Updating the spoiler today, I realized that there is only one color/rarity slot we haven't touched yet, and that is Red Mythic!

So, your mission today, should you choose to accept it, is to make Glacinorak's twin sibling, Anjomeddon, the Fiery Temper.

Glacinorak and Anjomeddon caused the Starstill because they didn't like having to deal with the seasons. Glacinorak's roost is in the heart of Frostblight, at the very center of Frostwynd, and Anjomeddon roosts in the tentatively-named Scorchbane (credit to Mown), the hottest part of Illpyre.

See here on down for flavor discussion on the two dragons.

I considered a couple ideas for Anjomeddon. He could be the exact opposite of Glacinorak and untap/haste your stuff.
ETB damage everybody else?
He could also do something with instants and sorceries, like casting them free off of combat damage.
Whole team firebreathing? (R: All your dudes get +1/+0)

And I don't think Anjomeddon's going to be too much about helping your guys, really...

Flying, haste
When Anjomeddon, the Fiery Temper enters the battlefield, each nonland permanent deals 1 damage to its controller.
Whenever Anjomeddon, the Fiery Temper is dealt damage, it deals 3 damage to target creature or player.

Not many have awoken Anjomeddon and lived to tell about it; those that do burn to death shortly after.

I like the idea that this one costs less than Glacinorak.
EDIT: I gave him psuedoTephraderm, because the old version just didn't feel mythic... and I made him 5/5 instead of 4/6

@Altimis: I like how this encourages a deck largely composed of spells.

@My card: Any input? I kind of went out on a limb there with the universal +1/-1 thing. Red hasn't done that before. Also I wonder if it's worth the complexity to have Anjo unaffected by the -1 toughness since that would be more in line with his flavour.

@Y'all: Guys, Anjo's kind of a big deal. Let's crank out some cards.

Sure.

Anjomeddon, the Ashen Soul
Legendary Creature - Dragon
Flying
~ attacks each turn combat if able. When it does, pay at least 3 life. ~ deals that much damage divided as you choose between any number of target creatures, planeswalkers and/or players.
7/5

The idea works a lot more poorly on big dudes.

:5::r::r:

Flying, haste
When you cast ~, until end of turn, creatures you control gain "Oblation - When ~ enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice this card and put a +1/+1 counter on it."
Whenever ~ attacks, you may have it deal X damage to target creature or player, where X is equal to the number of +1/+1 counters on ~.

5/5

Really roundabout devour.

When ~ enters the battlefield, put a blaze counter on each other permanent without a blaze counter on it. For as long as a permanent has a blaze counter on it, it has "At the beginning of your upkeep, this permanent deals 1 damage to you." (Those permanents continue to burn after ~ has left the battlefield.)
7/5

Unsure if the reminder text is really necessary, but I just like the phrase "continue to burn" too much to leave it off.

Those counters are functionally different from Obsidian Fireheart's counters, seeing as Fireheart's targets continue to burn even when the counters are removed.

It's almost funny how ironic it is that Glac has the immediate effect on board while Anjo has the inevitability.

Actually, I think they're both the same, or at least I Obsidian Fireheart functions similarly (the effect is only dependent up on the presence of blaze counters). Or, does Anjomeddon's wording make it so the ability doesn't stick if he's not around? Now I've confused myself.

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may gain control of target permanent until end of turn.
: Target creature you control fights another target creature.
5/5

I think this does a good job of expressing something that we've talked a little bit about as far as Anjo's character is concerned, namely zir fickle and somewhat cruel enjoyment of seeing people worship zin and squabble for zir favor. (I think TP's design and Storyteller's design do a similar job of expressing that idea, maybe [probably] better.)

I'm not going to pretend to know ANYTHING about development but you might compare this to Bringer of the Red Dawn Dominus of Fealty and maybe even Zealous Conscripts as that card came in the context of a blink-heavy set. I left off haste as a way to lessen the power but maybe haste should be put back in since people will assume it's there anyway? I don't know. Again, 0 development skills.

No room for flavor text on this design I think.

I'm an idiot. I need to take my own advice and read rulings more closely.

Can someone educate me on this?
I only barely remember any discussion happening on the Red dragon. Not even sure where the name came from.
By the way, could we make the blue one less impossible to remember? I always think it's Glacnirok.

Glacinorak, right? Unless I'm wrong, seems simple enough to remember.
Anjomeddon was Altimis's idea, and since Altimis was Glac's creator... it kinda just fell into place.
No one really complained.
There's been a bit of discussion on Anjo's character recently in the flavor thread.

Yeah, obviously the character interpretation will be reshaped depending on what card is ultimately picked.

IDK... I get the feeling legends like Anjo are the very ones that should get a top-down design... no?

I picked Anjomeddon when I picked Glacinorak.
Think Glaceon + Ragnorak.

Anjomeddon I think of as willing to watch things burn for his enjoyment. He is selfish and impulsive.
Glacinorak, is more calm and calculating, but that doesn't mean he is any less selfish; he's just smarter about it.

@Anjomeddon:
I like to think that Anjo has Urabrask syndrome. He has a sentimental side. He sees his followers as pets of a sort. He's fond of them as sort of pets. Ooh that's a good human, you're getting an extra ration tonight! Except Anjo sees the majority of his pets as interchangeable and individually disposable. Unless you're a particularly impressive grand architect or warleader or something. If you're just an average warleader (and over the centuries he's had plenty) Anjo won't take any real personal interest in you. People who aren't his personal playthings are beneath his interest- unless their messing with his followers which are mine damn it and only I get to decide when they die!

@Anjo/Glac relationship
I see them as emotionally distant siblings (twins maybe?). They both detest the other's methods and believe their own way to be superior. They can get along from a distance but both know that if they actually spent a whole week in each other's company they would end up at each other's throats. It is in their mutual interest to avoid each other and preserve their relationship, such as it is.

Some flavour nuggets:
SteelBridge - The city of Steel Bridge was once known by another name, but centuries after the Stilling has become synonymous with it's distinguishing feature- the plane's first (and in light of a certain catastrophe) 100% metal-frame bridge. All the other bridges across the Big Gap have crumbled and rotted away long ago, leaving Steelbridge (the bridge) the only way across and turning Steelbridge (the town) into a bustling trade center and the biggest settlement in the area.
Steelbridge is a universal ceasefire zone because everyone from a hundred miles out can agree that the bridge's integrity must be maintained. Even conquering armies know that Steelbridge should only be taken by negotiatin and the town and bridge itself has gone more or less untouched by multiple empires. It is currently overtaken but untouched by the Faith of Elori.
This is also the farthest sunward that the robes of the Academy carry serious weight. Even within the range of influence of ludite zealots nobody can convince the Steelbridgers to turn against the only people who truly know how to maintain the bridge. This pisses of the cultists sooo much. Way more than the actual artificers ever did.
Maybe this is the base of the Trade Consortium? They're the ones who really run the place. Also makes sense since that's where the Academy would logically think to launch such an intiative.

Big Gap** - A massive canyon running more or less parallel to the terminator*. Across its entire length the only way to cross is at Steelbridge. The scholars of Frostwynd have a proper name for the canyon, but find that even they end up referring to it as Big Gap.

How would everyone feel about a black merchant protagonist?
Guess I'll leave the lich for next time.
I aslo need to look into the Aloise Hartley thing.
Also we need to get the Elori/Anjo thing sorted out. I figure Elori's Anjo's favouritest ever human who runs his proxy religion because Anjo is way too temperamental to actually manage of of these things.

* The line on a planet's surface dividing night and day. Also a word I really like.
** Deep Trench maybe? Long Gorge/Gap? I just want something descriptive and overly simple. A "Grand Canyon" that doesn't sound too derivative.

I don't feel qualified to comment on any of the worldbuilding but a black protagonist is always good in my book.
