...Of course, it's made of platinum.

Duh. Can't believe I missed that.

Luckily my lapidary history also allowed me to match an orange stone to place in it too.
I've told you guys about that, right?
Yeah, I know Keeper knows.

Anyways, the issue of the resurrection is one that is left totally and perfectly vague. Does it create a living duplicate? Does it truly bring someone back? What price would it ultimately take to do either of those things?
Maral and Raleris are too cautious and perhaps just a bit too cynical to want to try.

Interesting. I like it. If the bearer doesn't give in completely, what happens with the sprouted scales? Do they vanish, or is the bearer stuck with them forever after that point?

They recede. It's a feature rather than a bug.

Just curious. I like it, either way!

Interesting. Another artifact of dire power and its own aims. You really like those, don't you? :P

In this situation it actually isn't. It influences the user, is obviously aware, but it's all instinct so it doesn't have anything like "goals" or "plans". Those all come from the user.

Besides that, these have to each a certain threshold for it to gain the pair's attention so...

Phew. Finally caught up on these.

Re: The amulet, my mind immediately thinks of one person who I hope does not ever wind up with her hands on this...

Also, I would love to see the list of "explicable" draconic attacks. Just trying to imagine that gives me a goofy kind of smile. I imagine a lot of the explanations are just: "Dragons are jerks." Or: "Dragons came for the shiny stuff."

I love the implication too that Raleris just has a bunch of giant lists somewhere of different categories of phenomena. I don't really see HIM writing it all... but I do not think it'd be out of character for the Commodore.

Something about this kind of makes me imagine him like Rob in High Fidelity - just compulsively ordering things into top-5 lists of spells, books, blocks of cheese, etc.

Aaaaand, now I'm imagining one of Maral's artifacts is some sort of unholy cheese grater.

Awww come on, how much damage could she do?

You did mean Astria, right?

That would certainly create the potential for a flammable family reunion.

Mercifully, I think the scales might cause a problem for Astria's vanity.

We'll get Denner to write up a dissertation on the effect of scales on the objective beauty of the human female.

Now, Denner talking to Astria would be another fascinating conversation.

Honestly, I think a conversation between Denner and Alessa would be...
well... that poor man would be trampled.

I like the ring. It's a pretty cool visual of the calm madman while everyone around him ins going berserk.
