So, there's a character concept I've really been wanting to give a go, but I have way too much on my plate as is and no real idea.

Anyways, a mage who uses oozes. A slimemancer?

How about Thuzez?

When Thuzez chooses, he uses his oozes,
And he woes every muse at the ball,
Yes, Thuzez refuses to lose his oozes,
Though his ruses confuse us all.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

You know, ever since reading about Thuzez, I've had the "Moses supposes his toeses are roses" scene (the song especially) from Signin' in the Rain stuck in my head.

I love that film.

I have a recording of Danny Kaye singing about tongue twisters, and they are all in that form. It's fantastic.

This is an idea I've rescued from the old board and thought it might have some merit keeping it around here.
Quote:
So, this idea came to me a few days ago, and it's just sort of been sliding around in the hind of my brain since then.

But this is an idea that I think has some really great potential. It's, unfortunately, simultaneously complex, simple, and incomplete.

Essentially, the idea is to tell a planeswalker story through the eyes of a mundane... but I'll get to that in a moment.

Our protagonist, or at least our viewpoint character, is a completely average joe, just your everyday guy, but he's begun to notice something odd. The more he thinks about it, the more he realises it's the way things have always been, and for some reason, nobody seems inclined to mention it.
He lives in a fairly large city, relatively successful, though not as much as he really could stand to be.
His occupation is a bit undetermined right now, but it's not all that important.

You see, our character has just come to the epiphany that.... there are very very strange people that visit the city. While that hardly seems all that momentous, these are people that do not match any of the known world, and for the purpose of the narrative, the world is known about as well as our own. So, these strange people have now caught his attention, and he realises he's seen them for a long long time, and they are virtually everywhere.

At last, his curiosity gets the best of him and he begins to track the next one he sees (possibly a customer)... and promptly gets sucked into a plot that he was not prepared for at all.

The entire story is predicated upon the idea that someone out there is adroit enough to notice how strange some of the walkers are and is familiar enough with his own world not to shrug it off. The addition to this is the fact that he's not passing it off as one or two weird people, because he encounters these bizarre people regularly enough to put together a pattern.

So, there we go. It's out in the ather now.

You know, the last time you shared that idea Jakkard wasn't a thing yet, I don't believe...

That feels like a very Jakkard story.

Random Idea: A plane without sapient life (save for the planeswalkers who visit). Insects, oozes, etc.

That might be what Sanctuary, the magicless plane, ends up looking like...

Reality Glitch's second chapter being in second person gave me a random idea: Someone should to a choose your own adventure style story through the use of spoiler blocks or something like that. Make choices for your planeswalker and see where they wind up, and then justify the multiple choices in one of those incredibly used tactics like saying they're stuck in some vortex experiencing different realities all at once and get to see the consequences of each action.

In retrospect, I almost wish I had structured Through the Eyes of Might-Have-Been with spoiler tags >_< It probably would've made the nested realities a LOT more comprehensible.

I don't know. I think figuring out what was going on is a major part of that story, and I think the realization near the end would be lessened by visually representing the timelines. But in terms of writing it? Yeah, probably easier! :D

I had to make charts for that story because I couldn't keep it straight in my head >_< Never again!*

*until I get an even stupider idea

Keeper, you should write a story where Alessa READS your story, so she keeps jumping forward while reading it. And then someone casts Time Stretch on her...

4 white mages? It'll never work....

Continuation of Bad Ideas: Have a game where each part of the 'choose your own M:EM' adventure is written by different people, and at the end of each short segment they leave the options open and people keep filling them in. The story would never end and always keep branching!

Not really a M:EM thing anymore though, because its infinite nature will keep it ever from being able to be recognized as cannon or not.
