Yeah, guess I can tell you guys now, Merlin was the only role used. I had said "roles" originally because there were going to be two more used, but I thought I'd keep it simple for now and slowly increase the number of roles used.

That's exactly what Lancelot 'would' say!

I'm going to wait for Aaarrrgh, but if for some reason we default. I would like to set my default to TPzombieW.

I'd assume you both need to agree, right?

It is hard to get a read on TP, just because it's his first game. I still think Mown is my first option, with TP and RM as shared second. Basically, the only person I don't suspect it's neo. If you don't think it's Mown, I'd be okay with picking TP.

No, it really isn't.

The designated Assassin makes the final call, but given that Squinty said there aren't any other roles, I don't really now. I guess that means they don't get to guess Merlin :q

Edit: Well, that depends a lot on what Lancelot variant we would play, but I assumed the third, given the lack of revealed cards as the game progressed.

My only concern with picking Mown, is that as a nonmerlin player, Mown would want us to think that he was Merlin.
I get that every not merlin player wants us to think that of them, but I think Mown did it a little too well.

At the same time, only merlin knows who the spies are, so my theory only works to a degree.
This is the post that really makes me think he isn't, and that he is trying hard to appear that he is...

Mown wrote:
Okay, so, let me spell it all out then, before we reach the point of no return.
Let's assume we play with Merlin, because squinty hinted towards it pretty heavily. As Merlin, you know who the baddies are, but the baddies can try to guess your identity for an automatic win. Why is it important to acknowledge this? Because otherwise you have one dude on your team that gives your opponent an automatic 25% win chance.
Therefore, it's important to a) look like Merlin and b) look for Merlin. He's primarily an asset for the resistance/servants/town, but only if you play with him in mind. I'll give some pointers, despite not being entirely sure how to do it myself, because Merlin is a living hell to play correctly, and I pity whoever has the responsibility.
Okay, so, first of all, it's vital that spies don't guess you outright. You know that dude that correctly guessed the 4-man team out of nowhere? Yeah, he's Merlin. Therefore, Merlin needs to not look like Merlin. Make some mistakes. Just not enough to where we lose, so have fun with that. The rest of team good guys, on the contrary, need to look like Merlin. This usually just comes down to playing like you always do, but working with a little more certainty, perhaps. Isolate the bad guys, essentially.
Secondly, look for Merlin. The assassins are looking for a free win, but you are looking for someone who is working with complete information, other roles notwithstanding. And when you identify someone who is Merlin, analyze the reason for his plays, and become Merlin instead of him. Of course, this is always dangerous, because while you a) May mistake someone, theres also the chance that b) Merlin is intentionally making questionable plays.

In other words, have fun everyone.

About 48 hours remain for the Spies. They must come to an agreement on who is The Merlin in order to win.

Well good for us for figuring out who are spies and who are Resistance.

Why am I suspected of being the Merlin role?

I'm okay picking Mown, but I'd rather pick TPzombieW.

Again, I think TPzombieW was trying to set us up when he picked you. Personally, I think it worked as it made it a 50/50 guess as compared to a 33/66.

Mown (I think) has a lot of experience in these games which is the reason I'm less suspicious of him (because I think he's just used to it).

==xx==

In hindsight, Mown most of the stuff that you were saying, I actually understood and was "flubbing" on purpose. Some of the stuff I was confused on, but that point where you called me a dofus, was 100% intentional, which just made your response to it even funnier to me. :p
I did make some honest mistakes, and now that the game is "over" as a no longer player I want to apologize for them.
1) I really did keep forgetting one person in the game, and it was worse that I kept forgetting a different person early on. It was frustrating trying to cover for that, being a spy, but that was an honest to goodness mistake. I just felt bad because I was trying to mess up the game as a spy, I just wasn't trying to accidentally mess up the game as a player.
2) I didn't mean to default that one time. I sent that PM to myself, I don't know what happened there.

But remember that TP had no way of knowing that either the team would go through (he ended up voting against it) or that I would fail it. And if I had passed it, I would probably have been on the next mission, where it would have been even harder for him to set me up, especially with a success under my belt.

Anyway, I'm really busy these days, so I don't know if I'll have a chance to check in on this again before the deadline. So I am officially letting altimis make the final decision on this.

Aaarrrgh has relinquished responsibility to altimis.

altimis, what is your final answer? You have a 25% chance of winning for your team.

You mean a 50% pchance :p
I'm probably going to go with TPzombieW.
I just want to double check some of Aaarrrgh's concerning posts before I make a final decision.

You have about 18.5 hours to decide.

Since we're under one day until the end, no more chatter until a decision is posted by altimis.

By the end of today, we'll have a winning team.

So, I have been going back and forth through (mostly the voting patterns) and I just am hooked on the idea that TPzombieW is the endall.
In order:
TPzombieW: If he 'was' setting us up, he did pretty good job; or we did a pretty bad job; or both. I think that being on a mission with a spy gave him an obvious out against Aaarrrgh, then he just needed a little bit of a reason to relay distrust in me.
Mown: Mown is highly suspicious of being Merlin, but it feels 'too' obvious that he is the merlin. This is my first official game of The Resistance, so I don't know how it normally plays out.
Thoughts:

NeoSilk has actually moved up on my list. His missions always include either me or Aaarrrgh. That could be calculated and I am starting to think maybe so. Even though, I think TPzombieW is more suspicious.
RoaringMouse is the least suspicious to me. HIs voting pattersn are all over the place. Evrn though he didn't talk much that I can remember, nothinc about him leads me to believe that he is the merlin. As such, if you are the merlin, I tip my hat to you.

With all that said. I am aware that I'm probably shooting myself in the foot, for ignoring the obvious, but I will go after TPzombieW as the lynch-pin; necessary to win; must-kill-now target.

Final answer.
Aaarrrgh gives altimis the nod, and altimis quickly draws his gun and points it at TPzombieW.
Something goes wrong and an small explosion happens causing dust to fly up everywhere. Before the dust has time to settle...

*BLAM*

EDIT: Sorry, but given it was the last game post, I felt it could use some drama. I edited in the drama (sue me) :p

Aftermath:

Aaarrrgh hands altimis the gun and gives the nod, altimis kills TPzombieW.

Roaring Mouse, NeoSilk and Mown all subdue Aaarrrgh and altimis, but the mission is not over, and Mown rallies them back to complete it.

The Resistance Wins!

To be fair, I wasn't really too fond of being Merlin this game, because I suspect I would have reached the same conclusion regardless. I wasn't too sure whether I should make a big deal out of Merlin or not, but given that Squinty kept him hidden, I felt the need to inform everyone on why he should be assumed to exist.

For anyone with who has played with a merlin before, was Mown too obvious?
I've never played a full game of resistance before, let alone with a role. So I don't know how it usually goes down. I had little to compare too, thus the reason I thought he was too obvious.
