I guess I was last because I just did 8 picks.

I have some new messages, but if I read them it could influence my p1p1; let's try to open the packs in the proper order.

I don't think Hakeem's done anything yet, so you can squeeze in if you cato says so...

So I generated my first pack, made my pick, and sent 13 cards to Cato. Then I looked at my next pack, made my pick, and sent 13 cards to Cato. Why did I pass the same number of cards twice? Aren't there only 14 cards per pack (10/3/1 plus a basic land)? How did I get passed 14?

prior to some set (M10 I think?) boosters contained no basic land and 15 cards. then they changed it because they killed tournament packs which were the main way new players got lands. so older sets will have 15 card packs. (really old ones have different numbers still. I was gonna use homelands but homelands packs have 8 cards so it would've been really annoying.)

for this reason, if your pack was from a set that used the 14 plus basic model, I recommend adding "1*some basic land" to your list, so that the numbers are clear.

Basically if you're counting cards in a random draft you're punching yourself in your magic face. The extent of my signal reads are: "Oh look there's not a whole lotta red in this pack! Red's probably closed or the random pack generator is terrible!"

I think we may have a little too many people to make this really good.
Hardly any card will make it around the table, and by there there's definitely nothing good left over.

I got passed only 11 cards for pick 3 so I'm gonna hold onto my packs until I make sure there wasn't a mistake. Zenbitz, Ace, can you double check you didn't remove an extra card from the pack or anything?

On second thought, there are seven packs waiting on me so I'm just gonna yolo it and make my choices. I peeked at the next two and those both have the right number of cards, so we're good.

Imagine if someone had chosen conspiracy as their pack.

It's not the number that bothers me, it's the fact that I thought I screwed up; apparently I didn't, so I'll just pick and pass whatever is sent my way. Thanks.

nah that's half the fun. the point is all the random packs, getting more of those is only an upside.
