They really are. I told myself I wouldn't buy anything. Then I spent about $40.

the badges don't help.

187 games in my library and yet I actually look at the sales. I'll probably never find the time to finish everything I have, and yet I want more. Friggin' Steam Sales, they're toxic.

Only 187? What luxury! I'm currently on 253 and I don't even know what half of this stuff is let alone how I acquired it.

I have 80. But I tend not to pick up a bunch of the smaller cheap/free things that a lot of people do.

The sale so far has been very disappointing. I have only been tempted into spending $20 on things that actually work, and the one thing I spent more on and really wanted does not work at all.

Either I am going to get a publisher deal once they actually release a decent one, or I is signing up for crunchyroll at the end of this.

For anyone who feels too tempted to get things they won't ever use, just do what I do. Realize you are only going to play those 4 video games you are currently playing, unless something really spectacular happens, before the winter sale comes around, and that anime is going to take up the rest of your time. (Substitute whatever your favorite non-gaming hobby is for anime in the above).

On a side note, my 30 day challenge is already testing me. I had to change 5 words here :(.

You're assuming people listen on the internet, BH. Rookie mistake.

That is a god-awful and highly accurate way of looking at things.

My friend works in IT and she says she is surrounded on one side by young men who can't stop talking about the Steam sale and the other side by old men who talk about the things old men talk about like the terrorist threat level and milk making girls grow up too fast.

Thats quite the odd mix.

I'm thinking about buying The Witcher, I've never played the series, does anyone recommend it or against it?

1 or 2?
I don't know anything about the first one, but I've barely played the second one and enjoyed it.

Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition seems to be free on Steam right now. It's obviously some sort of mistake? but it's -$7.51 instead of $7.51, which is what they probably meant.

I would highly recommend it at either price.

Also @@#$ if that's free.

The gameplay on Witcher is terribly dated, the graphics and dialogue also show a bit of age. But if you want to play it for the story, get it.
The second one is much better.

I ended up picking both up, the trailers were compelling enough to spend $6 on the series.
