I relate to that man on a deep spiritual level after last semester =_=

I was wondering about exactly that, but I felt hesitant to ask, lest I trigger some sort of PTSD episode.

There's just something about the way he says "I'm not joking! This is my job!" which kills me every single time.

Ahaha well speaking of death I just realized that the TA applications for the fall and winter semesters are due tomorrow so I'm doing that tonight after midnight.

I feel like kind of a screwup but on the other hand why in the name of god does OCAD schedule this stuff at the beginning of freaking summer? sajahsdkhas jghjkshkjashfkjhs gah kgjaaghs

EDIT: Ahahaha so it looks like maybe the actual deadline for MY application isn't the day that I thought it was because that deadline only appears in the e-mail specifically for sessionals (which I am not a) and also I double checked and the e-mail that I thought must've been sent to my student mail like two weeks ago was actually sent to my personal e-mail THREE DAYS ago, so presumably they're still looking for applicants.

I just... did not need... any of this.

It's always an adventure at the University of Imagination*.

*no really this is our actual slogan I am not making this up

Well, my grandfather just passed away. I'm not sure how this will affect me in the coming days.

And I don't know if I ever shared, but this was not a sudden event. We've been expecting it for nearly a month.

My condolences to you and yours.

"May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer."

(an old prayer taught to me by my parents)

I'll pick up the archival/voting duties this week if you need me to. (If that would be a welcome distraction though I won't.)

Luna, I am so sorry to hear that.

I always wish that there was something more robust to say at times like this, and that words didn't feel so limited. Just know that my thoughts are with you.

I thank you all. I'm still not sure what I may be needing to do in the coming days and what I may or may not feel motivated to do. I'm sure most of the Archivistial duties can wait for this week. I've put it off before.

There's a thing I just came across that apparently started two weeks ago:

So, the FCC opened comments for the next 120 days. Everyone should submit a comment for "Protecting and Promoting the Open Internet" here: www.fcc.gov/comments

Lord LunaEquie is me, you have my sincerest condolences. I know what it is like to know personal tragedy, and even if it was expected it can (and surely is) still hard to go through.

I was given a small and sudden little bit of "why the hell not" inspiration today at work.
So, Aamir can play the flute and a lute.
We should put a band together!

It may be somewhere between cliche and subversive but... Maral can play the harp.

Makes sense. There's a relationship between utility, harmony, and mathematics.

She's also a giant with a harp.

That is a lovely manipulation of tropes.

See this is why I like it when we have nonhuman 'walkers :D There's so many fun games we can play.

I wonder if Kirsh can sing... Probably not. He's a shorebird not a songbird.

I've sort of adopted Raleris as a character though so I'm tempted to give him an instrument of some sort.

And then there's Ellia:

Denner Fabellian can manage the band. After all, he can always find you a gig.

It was honestly not wholly intentional.
I decided it would be nice to have the giant bruiser have a very feminine and delicate instrument, which meant harp and then... well, realization set in.

Well, there's the collective unconscious for you, I guess.

It works great regardless of how you arrived at it, and yeah, I think the contrasting aethetic of it works really well.
