This is one of the stupider things I've ever written. Enjoy!

I...

Just...

You know, I've got to hand it to you, Raven. Mel got exactly what he deserved.

I have to go think about my life choices, now...

I must have face-palmed EVERY paragraph, oh my goodness. The second-hand embarrassment was so very, very strong. I don't know whether to shake our hand (virtually) or eviscerate you (in fiction). I think I'll go with the former because I just sat here chuckling to myself like a madman for a good fifteen minutes about this absolute fiasco. Man, I'm just not sure if I regret bringing this up or not.

I enjoyed it, at least. But I've always been a bit of a masochist... :D

Also, I feel I should mention the title, but really, it speaks for itself.

Yeah, I was shaking my head a lot while writing this. I think it needs to be a film.

I've read only the title and already I am eagerly anticipating the agony that I will endure in reading this story.

Also, maybe we don't actually need to send out a call for stories. :P Maybe we just need to wait... like... a month... and we'll basically have it covered >_<

Yea, maybe I'll coerce OL into a Fisco/Jackie collaboration... Maybe he'll coerce me. O_o I think he could be scary if he tried.

I question the wisdom of the Expanded Multiverse ever endorsing this story...

Also, enjoy!

Taking your two points in order:

1. I'm not sure I agree with you 100 percent there on your police work, Raven.

2. I did! Thank you so much for posting this. It was a hoot and a half. You had me smiling from ear to ear.

Specific things I loved:

Spoiler

Two tiny typos:

Spoiler

This story helped make my day. Even more so once Ruwin clued me in to the pun in the title. (I'm slow as molasses. What can I say?)

Yea, maybe I'll coerce OL into a Fisco/Jackie collaboration... Maybe he'll coerce me. O_o I think he could be scary if he tried.

I would do this so fast it would make your head spin. :D

Also, I think that, if I tried to be scary, I would break out laughing in the middle and ruin it. Mrs. OL will attest that I am the world's worst liar/actor.

Thanks for reading! I went ahead and fixed those two typos, since they were each only one letter. And to be honest, I actually didn't know the "fiancé/fiancée" thing before, so I learned something today. YAY!

As to the parts you mentioned, and a few others I really like, let me just say that our narrator really had a lot of fun at poor Mel's expense throughout this. And it gets worse as the story goes on, as if the narrator himself is getting annoyed with Mel. I sort of just realized that.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed reading this. It was a blast to write.

Let's just say that I once made this mistake in about the worst conceivable place to make said mistake, and you'll know why I know about this in the first place...

It's funny you should mention that, because I started to hear my internal reader's voice sound more and more like Ron Howard's as the story went on, with kind of the same kind of objective-to-amazed narration arc as in Arrested Development.

Oh... I... Jeez...

Honestly, I don't know how to address this. On the one hand, it is incredibly stupid and probably shouldn't be accepted as canon. On the other, it is incredibly stupid and deserves to be preserved somehow.

It took me a few tries to get the title as well.

To be completely honest, most of the story (not all mind you, but most of it) didn't have me laughing all that much. There are some great parts, and honestly the last scene with Mel and Dolin makes the whole thing worthwhile, but most of it just kind of... happened for me without much reaction.

Ah, that's alright. I've never claimed to be much of a comedic writer. I try occasionally, but honestly, comedy is harder than drama or action. Much harder. And while this made me chuckled while writing and rereading this, it's certainly not everybody's cup of tea.

Thanks for reading!

I only wished he had also managed to miss the broad side of a barn somewhere in there. Great work Raven.

This was amazing. I don't really have anything further to say about this.

I'm totally not a M:EMber, and know absolutely nothing about what should or should not be accepted... That said, I do remember an excerpt from a certain Alchemist's Guide to Cooking in the Innistrad anthology that was equally as ridiculous as this, if not more so.
