Reprint Ethereal Armor.

Ethereal Armor
Enchantment — Aura
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 for each enchantment you control and has first strike.
Metal is scarce, smiths are pricey, and plate mail is heavy.

This is crazy broken

Lightbearer + Ethereal Armour = 3/5 First strike on 3rd Turn

This is crazy broken

Lightbearer + Ethereal Armour = 3/5 First strike on 3rd Turn

Nyxborn Shieldmate + Ethereal Armor = 3/4 first strike on second turn.

This combo is already legal in Standard and hasn't been breaking any backs.

That was my thinking. Favored Hoplite gets to be the same 3/4 FS on turn 2, only not quite as vulnerable (as the host creature is not itself an enchantment) and gets all damage prevented on T2. Hopeful Eidolon is 3/3 FS LL on T2 (7/7 with a second Ethereal Armor).

If WotC saw fit to let Ethereal Armor share a standard with the entirely-Enchantment-centric Theros block, I can't imagine letting it share with a more general type-matters expansion would be the straw that breaks it.

I assumed it would be printed with the current oracle text. Makes it an aura, too.

In every set enchantments are the least common car type (well next to walker). We probably want to bump the numbers up a little bit for Starstill, but enchantments are still the key to completing mastery and shouldn't be too easy to draft. I don't want it to be hard to draft an enchantment deck, but I don't want people doing it by accident either.
For this set we probably want 2 common enchantments in every colour. Maybe one in some colours. I'd like to get a cycle of seals in at common or uncommon (I like the tension between saccing them for an effect and losing mastery).

Seal Of Piety
Enchantment
Sacrifice Seal of Piety: Target creature gains indestructible until end of turn.
Who would harm those without sin?

In every set? Theros is an obvious aberration in favor of enchantments, so we'll disregard that. But Gatecrash had Enchantments-Artifacts-Lands as 26-13-11. RtR was 29-12-13 (excluding basics). AVR was 31-14-10. INN was 29-22-12. M14 was 28-23-3.

It seems to me, in every large set in the past 3 years, enchantments are the second most common permanent type after creatures.

Okay, clearly I have no idea what I'm talking about. Though to be fair I did try to look into it. In RTR for example there are 9 common enchantments, but no common artifacts. Of course if I looked further I would have found that Innistrad had more common enchantments than artifacts. Skipping over Scars, Zendikar also continues the enchantments > artifacts trend.
Does anyone know what determines the as-fan of artifacts vs enchantments?

You know what you're talking about. This is an card type block, which I'd imagine would have the same amount of enchantments as a set that had enchantments as a subtheme would have. RTR had an enchantment subtheme, both because the original Ravnica block did, and because it was going to be printed in the same Standard Environment as Theros, an enchantment block. So the idea that we should be having a lot of enchantments is not lost just because of what thatmarkguy says. And your theory to add tension through sacrifice effects is genius. We need at least a cycle of Seals in this set.

I like what caro's card does for drafting.
