*Edit*
So - as people start color threads, I'll link them here. I see Devil has a thread up for if someone wants to take over the bug info, as always, comments are welcome - if there's anything that people think could be done better, formatting/content/even the name of the thread - I'm open to pretty much anything. Just let me know, and I'll get it added. Also did some cleanup for the 2014 sticky threads, the 2 that are no longer there are now linked from OP of the 2014 thread that's still there.

Looking good, thanks.
Yup, spent too much time on a level plane. I'm now trying to attain the status of Corporate Whore.
:eek:
So I won't have so much free time in the field. Seriously this company is awesome and laptop based in the field. I can work on certifications during wait and down time on projects. It's freaking awesome! Every other company I've been with in the industry had paper paperwork and no way to access standards or anything in the field unless you brought your own books...

I digress. I'm really exited about the new firm I joined.
Carry on with the good work.

:D

I created the mono-colored threads, in case anyone wants to start playing around with lists. Personally, I won't until we know more about the game. Not planning on doing the guilds yet, I don't want to flood the forum with empty threads for now.

Again, open to any/all suggestions for how people think this should be organized. I figure the OP of each one can be a link to different builds within the thread, or different archtypes that come out of each color combo.

Just thinking out loud :V

You missed the off set tri colors:

:g::r::u:
:r::u::w:
:g::b::w:
:g::b::u:
:w::b::r:

Honestly, I am not sure that it would be a good idea making a unique thread for each deck style, the whole board would be flooded with them.

Yeah, I don't know the names for those combos. *hangs head in shame*

It does seem like alot, but, with the 1/2/3/5 color combos, that's 21 threads, which is basically what we have for the constructed for the past few years. Of course, those stagger in at 10/5/2/2/2, which spreads it out.

I figure the single and dual colored decks really should each have their own thread. The three color...maybe just 1 thread for 3 color decks, and one for 4 color decks?

I counted 31 possible deck lists and does not including colorless. As for the offset tri color deck names I am not sure they have one. Seems like a lot but I will let other members chime in.

EDIT, I see how you want to split them. a thread for 10 possible decks in 3ple colors could be a bit messy. Then again this worked fine for sealed so i don't know...

:r::u::g: = Rug (figure it out)
:w::u::r: = American (figure it out)
:w::b::g: = Junk (no idea why this is so-called)
:b::u::g: = Bug (figure it out)
:w::b::r: = nameless. I've heard it called "Dega", but I don't think that's anywhere near accepted.

The four-color lists are also sometimes informally referred to by their corresponding Nephilim, but again it's not exactly common or accepted because four-color decklists are pretty rare.

= Dune-Brood
= Glint-Eye
= Ink-Treader
= Witch-Maw
= Yore-Tiller

IMO it would be better to make a sub-forum specifically for deck list strategies. I know we had 21 lists before but it looks pretty cluttered right now (though I am viewing this from my phone). The one difference is with this version of dotp it is likely for more deck list threads to be active at the same time since essentially all will be viable at the same time. It could hide or overwhelm other active threads. Just my take.

Plateau, that's actually a good idea. I can't think of a more compelling reason to open us up a subforum to handle the deck builds like the shear amount of possibilities this years game brings to keep the main forum tidier.

@Hakeem - OK, I did know RUG BUG and Junk (also without having a clue why Junk is called Junk) but I thought that maybe they had cooler names...

As for the subforum, I think I'll need some convincing there. I mean, most of what we talk about is decklists and such, which will only be increased with the new format.

For the first few months (I'd assume at least) almost all of the discussion will be about decks, and that should be in the forefront, not buried in a subforum.

Now, I don't think that all of the three and four color combos need their own threads. Maybe 1 for the off color 3 color combos, and one for 4/5 color combos? That would leave us with 5 single colored, 10 dual colored, the 5 shards, 1 for the off colors, and 1 for 4/5 color combos. I don't believe there are going to be anywhere near enough colorless to have a colorless deck.
That would be a total of 22, only one more than we have now.

I'd be more than willing to keep up an index for the off color and 4/5 color combos where the deck lists can be linked from the OP to wherever they are within the thread.

I really feel that, with some organization and planning, we can make this work, and be pretty easy to navigate.

But, like I said, I am open to suggestions..

Oh...and, another thought - if we don't get dual lands, how many 4-5 color decks are really going to be viable? I mean, we get a tiny bit of mana-fixing, but...I really hope we get some duals this year (or at least fetches)

It's called Junk (sarcastically) because those decks are usually just a pile of individually powerful cards stacked into a pile.

If we don't get dual-lands it's going to be a repeat of last year - that is to say every deck with three+ colours is just going to be a dual-coloured deck that brought their pal Green along. Kinda hoping that isn't the case though.

(Too many opportunities to spam) If you check out my Hall of Champions series, you'll see that the little pal I hope to come around later is Blue and not Green, so there is that.

I'll disappear now.

Ogre Jailbreaker was spotted among the decks so it is possible that we might have duel lands but something tells me that they will be premium items.

Its possible to make a 5 color deck with artifacts, they did include Traveler's Amulet and Darksteel Ingot on the card list, 4 of those each could fix all the lands you need. Honestly, I would have preferred wayfarer's bauble over Traveler's Amulet.

Dega Sanctuary a white card that cares about black and red. Hence; Dega

These are the names people generally call them:

Dega: WBR Dega Sanctuary
Ceta: RUG Ceta Sanctuary
Necra: BGW Necra Sanctuary
Raka: WUR Raka Sanctuary
Ana: BUG Ana Sanctuary

All of this goes back to the names of the guilds in Invasion Block. These are the 5 names of the guilds.

Well, there is another cycle of cards that references those distinctions as well, but they're not what you'll hear at local shops so it's not worth pointing out. But since you have:

Degavolver
Cetavolver
Necravolver
Rakavolver
Anavolver

It doesn't matter that there are cards in Invasion block that reference these names; it matters if people use them. And they don't.

It's too bad, because having agreed-upon names for color combinations is nice so hopefully Wizards gets around to "officially" naming the tri-color wedges.

Unfortunately you're wrong about that. This is exactly what people call them. You can call them Bug and Rug and American if that makes you feel better, but this is pretty much lexicon.

Also, you do realize that the cards you posted are from the same Invasion Block that I referenced in the Sanctuary cycle? They all get their name from the Invasion Block Guilds. This was the earliest instance of non-allied Tri-Color combinations so it predates anything else referencing these color combinations.
