I've known about it for less than a day and I would have to 100% agree.

The problem with it is that any games it uses are not necessarily going to still be playable. What happens July 1st if Dark Souls goes down on pc and never comes back? Or a couple other dozen games, at least a dozen of them somewhat popular? This is the entire reason why people hate DRM in a nutshell. Microsoft is basically keeping quiet and leaving the possible death of games up to whoever is going to do a patch. At the same time, Microsoft is already planning their next big "advances into the pc gaming market".

Problem solved at least until July 1st.

The solution was:

1. Delete and uninstall everything even remotely having to do with GFWL.
2. Turn off the computer.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Do steps 2 and 3 a couple more times for good luck.
5. Redownload everything.
6. Run everything as an administator with nothing running in any compatability mode.
7. Pray that it works the 10th or so time you are doing this. It will not help but it might make you feel better.
8.Once it finally decides to cooperate for no reason you can understand, spend another hour or two trying to start the game in games for windows live.
9. Once the game finally starts, and you see that saving icon, promise to yourself never to use the software again for any other game ever.

And it only took 9 or 10 hours.

This is why Microsoft needs to cancel their new plans.

Maybe Microsoft thinks if they continue to screw things up for PC people will spend far more money on their XBONE 'full entertainment box'.

Preloading Watch Dogs now!

:excite::excite::excite::excite::excite::excite::excite:

This is the first game I've bought at full retail price on launch day since Wrath of the Lich King.

Best Case: They do right by their customers and find a way to let you still own your games.

Worst Case: You are screwed.

.... Valve's situation would have to change drastically, so it's a very long time away if it ever happens, but this might actually happen someday. A very very very long time from now.

Steam says that at that point in time, they will find a way to make sure you can still play your games. The problem with such a promise is that the main way Steam gets shut down is if Valve cannot afford to maintain it anymore. At which point in time..... they probably cannot afford to keep such a promise for 1000's a games. If they choose to shut it down for other reasons..... Either way, the promise is more for customer relations than a promise they can guarantee.

Honestly though.... I would not worry about it. It ain't happening any time soon. It would pretty much require the entire pc video game market to go under, which would basically require an industry crash.

Well your games are actually stored on your pc so I imagine they'd give you a month or more to install all your games so you can continue playing in offline mode.

Huh, so apparently I need a new video card or something because mine doesn't support DirectX 11 despite DirectX 11 being on my computer. Well, this sucks. Oh well....

So I liked Dark Souls. So I wanted to do research on Dark Souls 2. And.... I am upset. They some things worse:

- forcing you to level up in only one place again, ala Demon's Souls nexus
- enemies can only respawn so many times; and you need rare drops from some of them........
- hit boxes don't work right; basically the game's enemies literally cheat
- you can be invaded as a hollow

Definitely going to wait for a sale.

Also it is official. In a side by side simultaneous comparison, Demon's Souls just sucks.

So, Watchdogs. Let's talk about it some.

I haven't touched it yet, HOWEVER, my older brother who preordered it said he was playing it a few days early, because apparently it was leaked and steam just decided to unlock it (or something like that)

Anyone played it yet? Heard it was sweet.

It just looks really boring.

Hacking is a cool side diversion or cool mechanic in some games.

But I don't really want it to be the MAIN focus.

And whatever gun play I've seen so far doesn't make me think I would like it at all honestly.

Request:

Please put your thoughts of Watchdogs in a spoiler block so I can avoid them while still reading the thread. Apparently my video card hates the game since it's a bit older (about four years) and doesn't support DirectX 11. I have the game on Steam, but can't play it as of yet. This is one of the few games I'd really like to not have anything spoiled for me.

Majora's Mask was much better.

That is debatable.

Also, I would nominate Wind Waker and Twilight Princess as good games as well.

Skyward Sword not so much.

Back to the topic at hand, I don't care too much about the other stuff, but the hit detection and the monsters not respawning are huge problems.

Dark Souls 2 has the kind of hit detection where you can be behind the enemy, they can swing at the empty air in front of them, and you can still get hit sometimes.

Majoras Mask had a much more darker and engaging plot. The actions of the player carried more weight both mechanically and storywise and you actually wwre drawn to care about the NPCs and their stories inatead of them simply being quest givers.

Ive not played Twilight Princess, but that doesnt change that Majora's Mask was better than OoT. Most people revel in the nostalgia of OoT , or like it because they feel like their supposed to to be cool, but MM is definitely the way to go.

I like OOT more. Zelda doesn't need plot.

Watchdogs looks like a very very amazing game. Like 3D gunpoint crossed with assassin's creed crossed with a bottle of awesome sauce.
