Parad, but change it to any spell.

Altimis. Would have picked Echo's but I couldn't imagine there being too much discard in set.

I'm tied between Cato and Parad.
I think Cato's submission seems more uncommon.

I agree that Parad's card could say any spell, though, to fit the criteria it had to be a specific type. As such I'm okay with it being retconned to any spell.
I vote Parad.

Altimis has the best card, but Parad's fits the slot better. Echo's card is good too. Do we need much of a discard theme for this to work? I'm leaning no, but not when it's supposed to be a common.
Parad. Also, I echo Mown's sentiments. No need to single out instants when they make up 90% of eligible cards. Players will figure it out.

Oh, also, Parad, could you post the criteria along with whichever cards we're voting on? I keep having to go back to check the rarity.

I don't see the point of the "during an opponent turn" clausole in parad's card.
I mean, is worse in multiplayer, but scholar of athreos also does that, so it just seem unnecessary.

Echo's card doesn't feel common.

Altimis's card can work, crack the earth was a common after all, but we might want to have a flat power level for initially testing this set and that card is really weak.

Cato's is interesting, but I'm not sure is really common.

I guess alt if we aren't goint to playtest(might I suggest making it an instant at that mana cost) otherwise parad.

Current Tally:

ParadOxymoron: 4
altimis*: 2
Echo_Robin: 1

The asterisk next to altimis's name means that he's the one the criterion-setter voted for, and therefore wins ties.

Voting ends in 3 hours.

Please visit this thread if you'd like to have any input on YMtC's new subforum.

And ParadOxymoron takes it! Cheapshot Enthusiast has been added to the spoiler.

Next round: Black Common. Create an instant or a card with flash that you can cast more than once.

I edited the criterion a whole bunch because I couldn't make up my mind, but I'm satisfied with the one that's posted now. Sorry about that. (Create a black common instant or card with flash that you can cast more than once.)

I'm not certain this is something black can do. I can't find a good way to stay in the color pie,be simple, and not break limited.

Boney Blur :b::b::1:
Creature-skeleton berserker
Flash
As an additional cost to cast [cardname], sacrifice a permanent.
[cardname] can be cast from your graveyard.
[cardname] can't block.

Self-recurring instant speed card at common? Going to take some thought. Also, if we're trying to give triggers to instant/sorcery decks it seems like an idea better saved for blue or red.
Black only has 15 cards with flash, and most of those are multicolor or not in line with the current color pie. Aside from one rare in JOU, the last monoblack card with flash was from Lorwyn block and it wasn't common either. Before that came Time Spiral block, whch had black flash put could justify it as part of the time theme. That means we're stuck with instants.

Sorcery
Draw a card, then return ~ to your hand unless an opponent discards a card.

Closest comparison is Brainbite. This seems uncommon, but it'[s what I got.

OK. I was inspired by Resurgence of Strength, but I guess I didn't take the color pie into account. I think this is a bad criterion after all.

New criterion: Black uncommon. Create a card that you can cast more than once.

Better? Neither of you have to change your cards if you don't want to.

Spectral Guide --
Instant (U)

Put a 1/2 black spirit token onto the battlefield.
Whenever a creature card is put into your graveyard, you may return Spectral Guide from your graveyard to your hand.

So many lives have been lost on Starstill, that Drolet itself is full.

Frostbitten Weremachine :3::b::b:
Artifact Creature - Zombie Construct

You may cast ~ from your Graveyard by sacrificing an artifact in addition to paying its other costs.
If a creature was sacrificed this way, ~ enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.

4/3

One part undead, one part machine. Zero parts living.

Not sure how to cost this for uncommon.
