I would get this if you still get the specs for tf2.

These are the correct priorities.

See, that's why I like buying physical copies of games. You don't deal with that crap.

On my home internet I'll have the game downloaded before you make it to the store... and I'll forever have a perfect digital copy to move from computer to computer without having to put up with a disc and a box.

While deployed, even at the rates I'm getting for download speed... I'd STILL have the game faster than buying a physical copy and waiting on it to be mailed and make it through customs.

I get the people that want the special edition games that come with something nifty in the box, but other than that there is no reason for me to every bother with the barbaric notion of going to a store and paying a higher price for something that takes up room on the shelf and is the exact same as the digital copy.

If it is a steam game, then once you unlock it on steam you can download it through steam. Same for Origin and all the other proprietary online game store markets. And then I can also download it if for some reason I can't access my internet or whatever.

Also, Skyrim was the same price in store as it was online when it first came out, AND I got a nifty map :)

Hey, tf2 items are free steam money. I had made like 7$ at one time from trading. I really need to get back into it at some point, although inflation of items has made it kinda sucky.

TF2 items have for the most part become essentially worthless due to oversaturation of the market. TF2 keys still hold some value... but you can't really grind those out for free.

And to be nitpicky grammar wise, the $ goes before the 7 like so: $7.

mjack has joined the church of the duck, I see.

Also, it isn't too bad. You just have to grind trades so you can get refined metal, because that's the base currency for everything.

Arma: Cold War Assault is currently free on steam until Monday's changeover time.

Which means....... it's a single player game for free. No strings attached. Just ask them for it by monday and they will register it to your account. That's it. You then own it. Don't have to pay for it later. It's not multiplayer only. It's not free to play. It's just a free game to celebrate their anniversary for a very short period of time.

The idea is to give away their oldest game for free to convince you to get the newer ones while they are on sale. But...... you don't have to do that. If you want you can just take the free game and run. But I would still say to take the free game.

As for whether the other games are worth it? To pay for? No. No they are not. Unless you really really really can't get enough of WW2 and/or military shooters after all that COD and/or whatever else you used to play.

I know where the dollar sign goes, I just like to use it wrong :p Also you can easily grind out for keys if you know what you are doing.

Is there any merit in preordering it?

Magicka is $2.49 today and tomorrow. I have the game, I have played the game, and I can't say it's high up on my recommendations list. The controls feel incredibly clunky, the casting system is okay but easily abused, and whatever story there is isn't very compelling. I've heard multiplayer is fun, running around and killing friends in arenas and the like, but I haven't played any of that. But with all that said, the game was given to me, so someone else must have liked it enough to want his friends to play it, so maybe I'm wrong here. For two fifty, it's not a bad price to just grab it, give it a quick try and put it right back down.

Three years old, actually. And even so, a good game is still good no matter the age. It may be inferior in graphics and the like years from when it was released, but it can still be a good game.

Record of Agarest War and Record of Agarest War Zero are currently on sale for 66% off and 33% off respectively. I consider them to be the best non-square-enix jrpgs on steam right now, so I would probably recommend them. The 1st game is 5 bucks and the second is about 13-14.

That being said, the games can get a little repetitive a while in, but since they are 50-60 hour long turn based rpgs........

I put square-enix games into a separate circle when it comes to rpgs, where I don't really consider them to fit into any other categories.

Dark Souls, Prepare to Die Edition, is $6.67.

I did not like Demon's Souls because the game's pacing was extremely poor in the beginning and I just never got past that part. The difficulty never got to me so much as the "every character without a shield is screwed" mechanics of the game. Is Dark Souls still worth trying for me at that price tag?

Dark Souls is well worth the $7.00 I spent on it when I bought it several months ago. I've spent quite a bit of time playing it and even had times where we had multiple people playing at the same time and 'racing' to see who could do stuff like beat Sen's Fortress fastest etc.

To be honest though, I think its a game that you personally will spent more time on NGA complaining about than actually sitting and playing. :/

On an unrelated note: Terraria is rather addicting and I'm surprised I put off playing it this long but glad that its one of the games I chose to bring with me to occupy my time.

This would have been helpful 4 days ago :(

Honestly, I did a bunch of research and found out they fixed or removed most of the things that pissed me off from the first game, so I got it.

I have no problems with difficult games. I have a problem with cheap deaths and arbitrary difficulty spikes. If a game is fair then it has the capability to be very fun.

So it seems I cannot get the game to start on Steam at all. It just gives me my activation key and says to enter it when told, but I never get the chance, it won't start in online mode, and honestly Dark Souls is completely unplayable.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I've got the game to start, and now it just won't save. And It's not steam's problem anymore. I fixed that. Now it's Games For Windows Live.
