How It Works

We'll make one card at a time. Each round, we vote on the winner. You can't vote for yourself. The winner picks a rarity and writes a criterion for the next round. The person who sets the criterion can't make a card for their own round, but they can vote for the winner.

This is the thread for Colorless cards.

I'll set the first criterion:

Colorless Common. Create a mana fixer.

Frozen Shard
Artifact

, tap an untapped artifact you control: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.

The cloudless crystal reflects your heart's coldest desires.

Seems a lot cooler than mine.

I'm starting to think Snow shouldn't be supported in this set since it's not a card type.
Thoughts?

Maybe. I was thinking snow would help distinguish the sides. Both sides care about types, but there's a minor snow theme or something. But it's probably up to the votes

If nothing else it encourages me to design better cards, because I surely don't want it in here.

Mana produced by Starstill doesn't empty from your mana pool as steps and phases end.
: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.

Pieces of its star are scattered throughout the plane, and are held in a state of unending combustion. Many citizens capitalize this by selling their starstills.

That has got to come with flavor text.

Edit: what thatmarkguy says is also true.

Doesn't 'fixer' usually imply color fixing (gets your deck a second/third color if your draw didn't include it)? A colorless mana rock, as awesome as it is, I don't read as matching the criteria.

Interesting. I really wanted to push "The Starstill" as an ancient event that happened. Mostly because it sounds great.

I just thought it sounds interesting to use it as a noun in this case.
A starstill is a piece of the star that's stuck in time, constantly giving off energy without wasting away.

I wouldn't especially expect a common in a set to bear the name of that set, but stranger things have happened.

I like Fellwar Stone a lot, it sometimes gets you what you need but isn't exactly reliable. You'll often find it can get you everything but that one color you really need...

That was my biggest concern.

Just thinking out loud here, would we want to push equipment/auras on both sides. A way for citizens to cope with the unnatural weather?
