Or the highest number less than half, if that's more understandable.

Any number is a success Squinty, at least IRL. 7 just felt neat, although I think that 5 might be the most "fair".

Allow me to recommend the Lady of the Lake/Inquisitor token, it's a personal favorite of mine. Never cared too much about the different roles, to be frank. Maybe because I'm just a very poor Merlin.

It's the refluffed version of Lady of the Lake. So if you know that one already, this is redundant information:

Token that starts with the player next in the turn order reversed (If #3 starts, and #4 is next to propose, give it to #2.)
At the end of mission 2, 3 and 4, the player A with the token may give it to a player B. In return, player A gets to know if player B is part of the resistance or spies.

In the physical game, player B takes a success and failure card, and chooses one to give to player A. He doesn't reveal his actual role, such as Merlin, and the other players don't get to see the card.

That Lady of the Lake / Inquisitor role seems... a little confusing to me. Dunno if I'll be using them later. As a general question, if you have a Merlin role, is it known at the beginning of the game that there is a Merlin, or only at the end more like a Mafia game?

It basically boils down to giving one player the power to know if someone else is a good guy or a bad guy, but that player gets to do the same thing to someone else after the next mission.

Given that Resistance doesn't use a moderator, it's effectively impossible to play with Merlin without announcing his presence, because the spies have to reveal themselves to him at the beginning. You do have the power to circumvent that right now, but I wouldn't recommend it. Him being known is sort of important to the resistance, and the spies certianly don't need more advantages, which an unannounced Merlin would provide them with. Besides, anyone playing Percival, Morgana or Mordred would know that Merlin is in the game.

To be honest, I'm glad I didn't use a Merlin role right away. Most of the players are brand new to the game, and I think adding in power roles right away would probably be a bad idea. But the next game, there will certainly be power roles, like Merlin.
