An extended rest requires 8 full hours of uninterrupted respite, at least 6 of which need to be sleep while the other two can be 'light activity'. If you wish to take one, given the current circumstances your best bet would be to retire to the guest-chambers that currently houses you. You might want to check with the rest of your party, and perhaps also the Captain, before you engage in one.

As for your perception check, yes, the boat is very securely moored by the jagged rocks. A large crack stretches across the base of the hull where the rock pierces the ship. The boat isn't going anywhere any time soon. The hull will somehow need to be repaired, followed by dislodged from the rocks before it can go anywhere.

The Isle itself is only about 30 feet off the ship's bow. The massive onyx wall is at least 100 feet high, with no visible signs of entry.

So can I get some kind of idea as to what everyone wants to do? Unclear if everyone wants to take an extended rest or if they want to interrupt the sleepy Dwarf or if they want to split the party or what.

If you guys want to take an extended rest, you may do so. Keep in mind that it may cut into the amount of time you have to explore the Isle, but it would make you more prepared.

Decisions, decisions...

Yeah rest is probably good. Eight hours rest still gives us a good 16 to confirm this is the island we want. Plus if it is we don't *technically* have to get back to the boat anyway - I doubt they would sit around waiting for us while we scour the tomb.

The Isle of Serpents, from what you know of it, is an almost impenetrable fortress. It is surrounded on all sides by a massive black stone wall that, although unusual, appears by all accounts to be a natural formation. There is nothing save this wall on the exterior of the Isle, to the best of your recollection. There might be structures inside, but your knowledge of the Isle of Serpents is too limited to come up with concrete examples.

But from what you do know, there is no mention of any kind of staircase that runs up the outside of the wall anywhere on the Isle of Serpents.
