Different Question:

I have Intel HD 4000 graphics. My graphics card is the only thing remotely questionable for any game I want to play, and all the sub categories of my graphics card seem to pass (its capabilities are above the required bar). Am I good?

Probably. Play the game and find out. Most games can be run at lower levels anywho.

Just watch out for Crysis.

I bought that 30 dollar collection I recommended a couple days ago to "play it and find out", and I could, but that in no way means anything other than I can at least play games at the level of Sonic Generations. Now knowing that that's at least my minimum is still a little helpful, but..... and the thing says my computer can play Crysis by the same criteria, or at least the recommended specs for Crysis if we go by the same criteria. ............. What do I make of that?

Also, is Crysis really still the bar nowadays, or is that game falling behind things like Battlefield 4 and so forth?

BF4 is the bar for utter garbage made from a perfectly good Franchise.

Crysis isn't super bad now, but I for some reason remembering the extreme requirements of the game not being the only reason it fritzed computers. It was also more of a joke, because of Crysis frying a lot of PCs because people overclocked without proper ventilation.
Of course, my first gaming rig I built specifically to play Crysis, because I am a baller.

Most games nowadays have lower settings, so I wouldn't stress it too much.

If you can play Skyrim, you can probably play most games that have come out since then.

I checked and its requirements are so similar to Sonic Generations, a game I know that I can run, that I don't think I have to worry then.

Four years old for me. I might end up needing a new one soon, though. Not because the hardware is outdated, but it's starting to break down. I'm not much of a computer guy, so I'll probably just replace it.

My computer is at the two and a half year mark, but I've yet to met anything that even slows it down so I'm not pushing for an upgrade yet.

I play everything on Ultra settings and probably have a few dozen graphics mods on both Skyrim and Oblivion.

PCs have started to hit the plateau available for current hardware tech. Until the supercarbon stuff becomes more feasible we won't be seeing huge jumps.

I tried DotP 2014, but I was underwhelmed. I hear 2015 promises completely customization on decks. If they'd add in mana rocks, I'd be a completely happy camper with the game.

The 2015 card pool is going to limit you to 4 of each common, 2 of each uncommon, 1 of each rare, and 1 of each mythic in your deck. On top of that, the cards we have seen so far are on the power level of warpath ghoul and marauding maulhorn.

It's like a bigger version of sealed so far, with just as bad cards. But on top of that the actual other changes to the game have people so seriously concerned that the game is no longer an auto buy for people who own all of the previous 4 games.

DotP as a game is indeed underwhelming...on top of that the community keeps me just playing with single player.

Its a good way to remember back when I played Magic, but its not in any way 'playing Magic'.

It's a very good way to play with decks that you couldn't afford. Out of 21 decks, more than half of them would cost you 100s of dollars to build, and although the meta has its top decks each deck at least has a shot. For what the game and its dlc costs total, its a ton of value for the price.

Of all the reasons to play DotP "Its slightly cheaper than the real game" is the worst one to choose. And still doesn't address the issues of bottlenecked play and in general bad community.

It's not slightly cheaper than the real game. It's $1 a deck for decks that would cost you over $100. I count that as about $1000-$2000 dollars worth of savings over going out and buying all the real cards.

And you get to use them in a meta where you can actually use them.

And the community is no worse than you would see on Borderlands or Left 4 Dead or WOW or MTGO. I believe the phrase was "Find some friends to play with if you don't like randoms"? I'm usually the one who gets told to do that, but its still as apt as any other multiplayer video game ever.

Speaking of which, Left 4 Dead has a terrible online community. When its not trolls, its people who rage quit after they died because they don't know how to play the game. As for trolls, I did not realize how many people will refuse to finish the level to annoy others before rage quitting.
