We're split between grixis and jund right now. Deathraider is a solid two drop in either shard.

Elemental is removal, a creature, and it's in a colour that we're highly likely to use at this point. Seems the obvious pick.

This was quite solid. As somebody said (Zen?), when people use the first three turns to fix mana, a bear can go far.

But we're three color, there's very little chance we're curving out. At least we can cycle Hunter.

True about the colors. I didn't mean to imply we could curve out, just play an early drop against the most aggressive decks, to keep our life total reasonable while we fix the colors.

I appreciate that I am drafting this differently to everyone else but I think we want the Plowbeast here.

5 CC, which was definitely the strongest archetype in the set, was about early mana fixing and control cards and then landing big creatures. This is not a fast set and a bear really doesn't do much. 5/5's on the other hand are where it is at. The double white is irrelevant as early on this cycles and by the time you get to 7 mana you should have all your colours.

Hunger. I kinda like Plowbeast for the reasons Falcon mentioned, but WW is hard to diggest. I don't think it's a reason to jump into yet another color.

I would run submersion bc attacking mana bases seems very powerful here.
