Yeah that's what I thought that I wouldn't be able to shoot from where I was. I was confused.

Oy, I forgot to make sure everyone was handling that this fight was in dim light, thus everything in the room has concealment.

I'm a horrible DM! Let me surf through the thread to check, but I don think anything is changing.... brb.

Hmmm , yeah, the warlock's attack should have been a miss due to the concealment of the smoke.

Gah, I suck at this haha. I even had a note on the map and everything. We'll just leave the one attack in place for now, unless you guys want to go ahead and give that goblin some life back...

From this point forward though please remember that all attacks in this room come with a -2 due to the smoke and low light. You can roll your normal modifier just include "(Then -2 for concealment)" somewhere after the attack.

Dim Light:
This category includes the light provided by a candle or another dim light source, moonlight, indirect illumination (such as in a cave interior whose entrance is nearby or in a subterranean passageway that has narrow shafts extending to the surface), and the light cast by things such as phosphorescent fungi. Characters who have normal vision can’t see well in dim light: Creatures in the area have concealment (page 281). Characters who have low-light vision or darkvision see normally in dim light.

I think Olohorn is the only one with Low Light, so he should be able to see normally while the rest of you deal with the smoke.

Seems a couple of my characters are just prone to misfortune!

Can't seem to get a break:
Olohorn (Hi!)
Leskyn (Seems to be more useful for speaking goblin than cleaving them.)

Doing decent:
Jiardem (Probably has my most consistent high rolls.)
Valenthal (barely starting, but did have that Nat 1 that I avoided misfortune with...)

@Squinty : The form of the fearsome ram attack is an encounter power and can only be used once. It says it in the description of the daily action.

Typo above: Is a Daily power and can only be used once.

May have to try the Nuzlocke challenge myself sometime. Though may find the itch to collect pokemon on my journey hard to resist!

No, no typo. The action to take the Form of the Fearsome Ram is a daily power. While in that form you gain an encounter power to use a special attack. Squinty used that attack on the first turn while in the form, thus its now depleted. The actual form, and all the buffs it provides, will last until the end of the fight...but he cant use the push/knock prone/shift attack thing anymore.

Nuzlocke was pretty fun... I was playing it on my phone and just doing it at work or whenever I was riding passenger in someones car.

Guardian of the Fearsome Ram
Daily ✦ Polymorph, Primal
Minor Action Personal
Effect: You assume the guardian form of the fearsome ram until the end of the encounter. While you are in this form, you gain a +2 power bonus to speed and a +2 bonus to charge attack rolls. In addition, when you hit a target with an at-will attack, you push the target 1 square. If the attack already pushes the target, the distance of the push increases by 1 square.

Once during this encounter, you can make the following weapon attack while you are in this form.
Standard Action Melee weapon
Effect: Before the attack, you shift your speed.
Target: One creature
Attack: Strength vs. Fortitude
Hit: 2[W] + Strength modifier damage, and you push the target 3 squares and knock it prone. You then shift into a space that must be adjacent to the target.
Miss: Half damage, and you push the target 1 square. You then shift into a square the target vacated.

Sorry, been busy. Edited for an At-Will. I forgot, and somehow I just assumed that since I was in this form for the encounter, that I could attack with it's abilities for the encounter. I've said it before, 4E makes little sense to me.

This Post Is Mildly Important

So Roaring Mouse and I were talking earlier today... as the group should be aware, I'm leaving the country next weekend and my internet situation is not yet known. But additionally when it comes to the Red Box module I dont have it via PDF I actually only have the flimsy little paper book that comes with the starter set. I mentioned that I might not want to drag the book around the world since it'd have to be in a bad with all my gear and such but then I'd have no way to DM this module.

So heres what I proposed to her:

Wrap up the fight we're in right now and bring the Red Box game to a close, and then once I've situated over there consider starting up a new 4E game that I have the information for on my computer or just running a sandbox world. Especially since the primary reason for starting this game was to teach Silly to play D&D and then she bailed and never even finished building a character. The new game would likely be at a higher level... and while I dont know exactly what I'd want to run we could probably do something like just level these characters up to the right level ... or just straight up start a new set up thread and try and get more people and not rely on a DMNPC.

Its not something that has to happen, just throwing the idea out there.

Read you loud and clear. I wouldn't mind getting some more players in another game.

Though I am curious how this would end...
