I could see tech of some sorts working, just maybe tech that feels quite alien to what we've got here. I mean, if we're putting together a sky world where the gravity is weird because there isn't a planet, just relational superstructures, I can see tech working within that, just... weird tech.

That's sort of the setting you were envisioning, right Barinellos? Or am I failing at reading comprehension/keeping track of the thread?

Well, I will say that part of what bothers me about is the fact that when I was developing my skyworld, it literally had no ground. No stone or rock anywhere. I know that is something that I am bringing to the table and not something that is inherent to the skyworld we might be talking about, but it felt an elegant aspect of an integrally different world.

When someone mentions tech, it tends to come attached to metal, and that doesn't jive with making something different.
Essentially, I've stretched perceptions so far that narrowing them back down is uncomfortable for me.

Wow. I'm not even sure how you would write for a world like that, or how a world like that would even operate.

That's definitely on the radical end of what's possible in Magic.

...Which kind of makes me even more intrigued...

It's definitely very different than my vision of superstructures floating in an airy void, though. I wonder if the project could accommodate two such gravityless planes? Probably, if they're expanded enough...

What would you do with that. No land means no nothing. There'd be people and sky and maybe clouds. Nothing else. Maybe some ice structures, from frozen water vapor. What your describing makes me imagine a void with people. An interesting quirk, but devoting a whole world building project to seems overkill. I mean what is there to design?

Are there any more ideas being put forth? If not why don't we vote, and we can make these discussions when we are are working towards something.

Oh, I came up with a way for there to be things. It was one of the first aspects developed. Just because there is no ground doesn't mean there are no forests. There were also floating lakes and geocentric stars too.

I really had to go outside our frame of reference to begin to imagine this world. It was truly alien.

I'm going to make a list of all suggestions and then we vote. But first I have to play some Team Fortress.

Team Fortress didn't work because my mom's internet connection is apparently terrible.

Here's the vote:

Death World:

Knowledge World:

Class War: 1

Otaria done right:

Egyptian World:

The Unformed Land/Zendikar "Done Right:

Sky Plane 1 (Gravity works as we expect it to work):

Sky Plane 2 (Weirder gravity):

Afterlife became proper world:

So vote ahead.

I'm going to pick "class war", mostly because I think it would make for the most interesting group building experience.

But it's kind of a pain to read. Probably needs more spaces.

I'm breaking tradition and voting for one of my ideas. I had a lot of good ideas but kept hitting road blocks so I would love to see it made. I want to keep death world especially as something to explore later

Right, we have polls now. Damn, I'm such an idiot for not thinking of that. Great idea.

@Jedi: Death World is definitely something I want to do at some point. I might work out the core and then put it here to finish it.

I'm voting on the Sky Plane as outlined by Barinellos.

I considered that one, but it doesn't feel right for a community plane. It's not an intuitive idea, is what I'm saying.

My bigger issue with it is this: Barrinelos seems to have already made it, why remake it? Either we follow a lot of what he did and end up with his version, only different. Or we don't and the work he did on his goes to waste.

Voted afterlife plane as voting my own sky plane would be quite prideful. Also, because I'm a gigantic Planescape nerd

I'm starting to get dragged in to this -even though I said I probably wouldn't- and I can't entirely decide. Should people be allowed to choose 2 options? It's a simple click to change if you want to.
