Kodama's Reach

Can't sell the Knight. Or we could take the Saurian.

Pthisis is pretty awesome.

But Imperiosaur and Kodama's Reach are better. Hard to pick between them. Probably the Reach.

Really, reach? I've seen that card wheel.

Gimme some 'saur or wisp or some marshal. G beaters was a meh deck, if I remember right, but it might be fun to try and make it work.

Imperosaur.

green decks were some of the best in MMA dude. I can concede maybe taking Imperio over Kodama's but Reach is more important in the Tromp deck and lets us keep our options more open. Reach won't table from this pack at all, and I haven't seen that many Reaches go farther than 6th pick except in the most insane packs.

I mean, if you don't wanna go green we can take Glacial Ray and try to mise the Dampen Thoughts deck. But I'm not a huge fan of Gobbos and Flickerwisp is a really mana demanding card.

I'm not the biggest fan of gobos or dampen. Wisp is a 3-powered flyer for 3-mana with a relevant ability. WW is "demanding" on turn 3 or maybe turn 4, but the card's good on every turn, so who cares?

I have never seen a green MMA deck do better than 2-1. I think it's a reach to claim they were some of the best decks in MMA. But I'm willing to experiment, hence the imperio pick.

Tempted by the shiny $10 EDH card! That's not really a deck though, is it. Well, sure it is! JHIORA. Besides this draft cost me $30, got to gets some value.

There is a guy at one of my LGS who won every MM draft he was in picking green. I think it's very good as long as it's underdrafted.

Right.... but pretty much all your decks are pretty good when you're the only one drafting that particular color...

I admit I'm one of the people who 2-1'ed in green. I don't remember seeing much that made me want to draft it again.

For the record, I voted for Reach to try for the Dampen Thought deck, not the Tromp. And whaddya mean, only 2-1?

I'm a limited perfectionist, 2-1 is unacceptable!!!!

I've gotten 3-0 with green decks multiple times in this format. You just TROMP THEIR FACES.

Reach keeps our options open and that's doubly important for a format I'm unfamiliar with.
Reach.
No love for the Knight? I guess it's not as good in limited, but dang.

It is barely playable in any format.

I've seen Kodama's Reach wheel but only when bad people are playing.

Passing a Reach or an Imperiosaur is passing good green cards already. That sucks especially when Tromp the Domains is the most drafted deck in the format.

I'm passing the green cards and taking Phthisis. While I don't expect Flickerwisp to wheel, I expect to get this Tidehollow Sculler back. We haven't passed any good Rebels and we can cut hard here if we take all the upcoming recruiters. On top of this it's reasonable in any black deck and one of the few hard removal spells in the format.

Hooray for MMA! Love this format.

As for the pick, all the 'wisps all the time. It does everything.

Knight or Reach? Both seem pretty playable to me.

Good point on passing the green. How hard is Pthissis to cast in this format?

You just suspend Pthisis.

I've learned that you don't need to be so worried about what you are passing. Even if your right man gets into the same colors as you beacuse of awkward packs/bad reading, you still have the third pack, and his deck isn't going to be very good.

Knight of the Reliquary is hardly playable. It just doesn't do anything, ever.

I think I've come to understand the philosophy of "draft your seat" more and I think I agree with it. I think the next player or a few down might be in green because of our pack so I think that we might not be the green drafter on this side of the table. I think Phthisis and drafting more black cards will dictate the draft in our favor even if the first pick is not always committal.

I thought storm was a viable strategy for MM? Couldn't Jhoira be a viable card?

Jhoira + Fixing/ramp + storm+ all the bombs? Hmmm.
