Charm is my pick here. We will almost certainly be four colours and the artifact deck is very hard to make work in this format. If we were looking at artifacts I would go Sculptor over Fiend.

You are probably right about sculptor over fiend, but I don't remember artifacts being too hard to make work. You just fill in the blanks with Bant's utility creatures.

I would pick Sprouting Thrinax over soul's fire here.

Soul's Fire

Creature or player, it says. Wow.

I'm a bit reluctant to pick a second :b::r::g: card with no fixing as yet, and no use for the tokens. We've been shipping blue and white, Thrinax might even wheel. Or we could take the Stinger. It should be good against all the Squires and Sorcerers we've seen.

Soul's Fire isn't as good as Thrinax. It is really only average. Requires a dude, spell fizzles if the dude leaves play.

Obviously at this point we are Jund, so take Thrinax and move on. Frankly, I kinda wish we had the double Etherium Sculptor. Would be sweet.

Thrinax seems too good to pass to me. Cards that replace themselves always do well in limited.

I feel like we're drafting in a trap; remembering Jund in standard and going for it. This works somewhat, but the Esper deck was insane in alara limited.

I want to take the soul's fire. The thrinax is indeed very demanding... and there are multiple exile effects in this block that really brick it hard (O-Ring, Resounding Silence).

I would take Grixis Charm here (I know I'm going to be outvoted).

As I say, we are likely to be 4 or 5 colours so it is worth at this stage taking the best card in the pack (which the charm is by far). That way we can go base Grixis or Jund depending on what we see later.

Most of the mana fixing comes in packs 2 and 3 so at this stage we really just want very good cards.

I think soul's fire. If we wheel the thrinax we slam jund. If we don't we, we can shift in to grixis or naya.

Obviously seeing the second sculptor is disappointing, but que sera'.

As far as I remember, fixing in Alara is Shard based, right? If yes, we should be good as long as we stick to one and figure our splash latter. This means Thrinax for me. Card is good.

I'd say Thrinax.

We should've first-picked Strix because it's great and because either the Esper Charm or the UB drain-life dude would have wheeled.

I mean, I voted for the powerful card that isn't multicolored, but people wanted Jund cards, so I'm just trying to salvage them.

Guys, Soul's Fire or whatever it is called isn't that good.

Blightning is pretty awesome. Call to Heel is also solid.

That said, Obelisk is the pick. Mana fixing is top notch, and we only get one pack of tri-lands (which we won't see at this point prob) and Obelisks.
