So, for quite a while I've had an idea for a whole set of characters and stories to surround Raleris, the Lorekeeper. The problem is, they mostly focus on... his student and the person who he's selected to take over the Infinite Library for him. I'm worried that doing that pulls too much focus from him as a character to these other characters, and prematurely ends the story arc Trolljuju I think intended for him where he was going to be searching for a promising candidate.

Is it worth starting on these stories, or should I wait till Raleris has some stories to himself?

There's no reason you can't go back and write stories about him later if you would rather focus on the student aspect for now. I think it's more important to get stuff created that to worry about if it's in chronological order.

I guess my concern with that is that if we see the resolution of his arc any earlier stories will feel kinda pointless. I'm always a little leery of prequels for that reason, honestly...

...Although that might just be part of growing up in the generation that suffered through The Phantom Menace... >_> Some traumas don't go away.
