This year PAX East will be doing its first ever live D&D game with the Acquisitions Incorporated group. [Mike Krahulik (Penny Arcade), Jerry Holkins (Penny Arcade), Scott Kurtz (PVP)] And once again the boys have hired a new intern... they've previously been joined by Wil Wheaton and then Patrick Rothfuss but now they will be joined by *drumroll* Morgan Webb former co-host of the G4 show X-Play.

Its not been revealed exactly what she'll be playing but from the look of the drawing that the Penny Arcade guys did it looks like an elven ranger named Môrgæn



According to Gabe this is supposed to be a more 'back to the roots' game and skip out on the costumes and all the showmanship in favor of being a more relaxed game of just a bunch of friends playing D&D. It should be interesting to see how things end up coming out and more interesting to see how the three main characters react to having a female in the party.

This actually seems really cool. I mean, when you think about iconic characters, think about like Gandalf and Aragorn, or Merlin and Arthur, and how their "character design" is really simplistic. Like the wizards have a plain robe and a staff, the kings have their sword, and other than that, they aren't really fleshed out. Yet you have this image in your head of them, and it has nothing to do with a bunch of overembellished, unrealistic fantasy gear. I like the idea of a back-to-basics kind of style where the plot matters more than how many Final Fantasy X-2 -esque ridiculousness you can pile on.

I didnt know Morgan Webb was still around.

What is she doing these days?

Playing D&D at PAX? *shrug*

I'd completely forgotten about her once X-Play wasnt a thing anymore.
