Jiardem finds himself at a loss to what to call this monstrous creature, as he imagines many of the crew are similarly. He rushes to the stern and readies a spell, hands visibly shacking.

I never thought I'd go from chasing gnomes in hidden libraries to this... he thinks to himself as he looses a volley of a green spray from his staff at the sea beast. The aim however was not quite on, as he had to manipulate the corrosive mist to its proper target, lossing some of its mass along the way.

Focus, if you want to be able to share this moment you have to focus blast it!

"You there, doesn't this ship have any guns?" Quinn says, pointing at a random sailor and shaking him from his fear-induced paralysis.

"Uh... Yes. Yes it does," the crewmember replies.

"Then what are you waiting for? Take some crew with you and go man them!" he screams. The sailor promptly complies, taking three others with him and going below deck as Quinn pulls out his trusty Shuriken.

Rigger Dwayne Johnson laughs at the tiny weapon. "What are you going to do with that? Bounce it off the thing's scales to distract it?"

"Looks can be deceiving," Quinn says, as he throws his Shuriken out into the storm, missing the giant serpent by a mile.

Dwayne laughs. "Hope you didn't pay too much for that."

Quinn ignores the retort and holds out his hand to catch the steel star as it magically returns to him. He launches it again, this time it hits! The Shuriken pierces the sea snake right in the neck, then ejects itself on its own and flies back to Quinn. "This might take a while..."

The giant Sea Serpent roars. With a mere flick of its tail it severely batters the hull, knocking some of the less sturdy sailors prone (the heroes hold their ground). Then the creature's head whips in for the kill, clamping its teeth down on the leg of one poor soul who doesn't even have time to scream before he is flung into the air and promptly caught in the creature's all-devouring jaws like one might do with a tasty bite-sized snack. The rest of the crew can only stare on in horror, aghast at the monstrous mayhem unfolding before them.

Agamemnon strides forward and raises his hammer towards the foul beast that assaults the ship. "Know beast that I am Agamemnon, Champion of the Light and the Karaboudjan is under my ward. Retreat now to the depths from whence you crawled or face the light of justice!". Thrusting his free hand forward he launches a bolt of pure light at the creature that, mere inches away from its face, explodes like unto a sun bathing the deck of the Karaboudjan and its crew in radiance. Silhouetted against the light the massive creature shakes it's head and howls in impotent rage at its now useless eyes.

Thibor stands up after escaping death by drowning. He perceives the ship is shaking furiously. "For Moradin, I cannot have a single minute of rest. What now?"

Thibor rushes to upper deck only to find his work was in vain. A giant freaking monster is menacing to destroy the ship. "Oh, no! You will not destroy what I almost died to fix, worm."

Graydon advances toward the giant freaking monster, drawing his shield and banging on it loudly. ""Look at me, you ugly brute! Eh? Why don't you pick on someone your own size?!" He rips the lid off a barrel and frisbees it at the serpent, the shot going so wide it actually hits the ship's deck.

"Fellow sailors! Any unarmed man is a dead man, we need that thing dead and it bleeds, it bruises, it breaks! Grab a bow, a sling, a javelin! Kill it!"

He measured his paces and stopped several feet short of the railing, holding his staff horizontally. Red sparks leapt from the implement as he swung the staff around, his hand under the staff pointing at the creature's tail. Crimson lightning leapt from his hands, staff, even looking to emanate from his eyes as the bolt seared some of the scales off of it.

"HEY MR.MONSTAR! Listen to this!" Quinn bellows at the sea creature while waving his arms to get its attention. Then Quinn starts to sing, mustering up all the arcane energies at his disposal to produce a sound unlike any that a mortal half-elf should be able to make, uttering multiple pitches at the same time that strikes with confounding sonic force. The psychic onslaught is too much for the beast and it lurches back in agony. "Heh, yeah it sucks not having hands to cover up your ears, don't it?"

Then Quinn turns, hearing Jiardem's call for action. "That's the spirit, Jiardem! Couldn't have said it better myself, and I'm a Bard. You heard the man, men: TO ARMS!" Turning to Dwayne Johnson, "Especially you, brutus. Put those huge muscels to good use and lob a javelin at this thing or something." Ordinarily Dwayne might have scoffed at this insult/order, but he was too awestruck by the impressive sound Quinn made earlier. He turns and runs for the javelin rack, while many other sailors busily arm themselves with crossbows and javelins alike.

Energized by the adrenaline and the apparent disarray of the monster, Quinn then grabs his trusty Shuriken and throws it once more at the beast. Unfortunately, his luck runs out, and he misses. "Oh well, was worth a shot," he mutters to himself.

The blinded, disoriented Sea Serpent lurches and roars with anger. Then it plunges its head forward strait for the main source of its current anguish: Agamemnon! Even blinded, the mighty jaws miss the sanctified ham by only two inches!

It is now Agamemnon's turn.

Agamemnon stands unfazed as the creature snaps its jaw closed mere inches from him. Raising an arm towards the recoiling beast he begins chanting and as he does chains, rusted and barbed, form from the aether coiling around the serpent. As the Gith throws down his arm the chains follow suit and attempt to pull the monster back beneath the dark waters. The creatures proved too powerful however and after a short struggle rends the chains binding it in twain and raises up again to face the Karaboudjan.

COMBAT ROUND 3
THE KARABOUDJAN

The ship's cannons fire once again but narrow a ball hits the target. Surprising, since it is so large, but alas the distance and chaos of the storm makes those guns very hard to aim. Fortunately however, most of the crew aboard have now armed themselves with javelins and crossbows and the like that they can now attack the beast as well! One such crew-member in particular, deckhand Dwayne Johnson, throws his mighty spear at the beast and hits! This alone would be something to celebrate, but Dwayne's ingenuity brought another cause worthy of more celebration: he decided to attach a rope to his javelin, turning it into a makeshift harpoon. The big freaking monster is now tethered to the ship's main mast!

"Kill the beast!" he yells, and the crew start chanting in turn.

    PECKING ORDER
    Monster Status
    Hero Status

It is now Graydon's turn.

Graydon sees he'll be of no use on the deck, and rushes below deck to man the guns. He figure he may not know how to fire one so well, but he's a brute enough to help point the damn heavy thing in the right direction. He grabs the mounts for the first cannon he approaches and helps shift it into position. "Let's blow this bastard back to the bottom of the sea!

"I shall not surrender to you beast! I am a Maldranthe and will not stray from my path!" the wizard said as he launched a ball of fire from the tip of his staff at the beast. More scales burned and even in the storm he could smell the seared flesh.

"...I think I just made it angrier,"

"That's the spirit, Dwayne! Now time for something a little more daring!" Quinn draws his trusty Kukri and leaps onto the rope that tethers the beast to the ship. Pulling a death-defying balancing act, Quinn walks right up to the creature and stabs it in the neck! "Take that, fiend!" Quinn says, all too cocky at the thought that this epic moment will be spoken of in many ballads for years to come.

At least that's what he thought right up until the moment the serpent jerked it's head back, riveting the rope and throwing Quinn clear off of it. "Heeeeelp!" Quinn screamed, as he fell into the dark waters below.

SPLASH!

The beast lashes out at Agamemnon once again, this time hitting its mark! Powerful jaws clamp down on the sanctified hero and lift him clear off the deck!

Agamemnon is hit for 10 damage and is now grabbed inside the monster's mouth! (until he escapes)

It is now Agamemnon's turn.

Despite being lifted from the deck in the maw of a gargantuan sea beast Agamemnon looks positively ecstatic. "Oh my foolish beast! If you had wished to be brought in range of my hammer all you had to do was ask!" Uttering words of power his hammer begins to radiate divine light across its entire surface and, with a mighty swing, Agamemnon brings it crashing down onto the monsters jaw. As the blow connects a massive burst of light envelops the creature, outlining its hideous form for all to see.

With the creature momentarily dazed the Gith attempts to wriggle out of its maw but has little luck against the vice-like grip.

"Get back my annoying friend, Worm." Thibor yells, but again his spell fails to hit the big freaking monster. Only his order is listened for another pair of sailors.
