Um, I'll use quick draw to draw my shield, drop into the Earth Guard stance, move to L13, and throw the top of a barrel at the giant freaking monster. +3 to AC and +1 to all my other defenses.

Equiping or stowing a shield is a standard action, and Quick Draw does not work on shields. Quick Draw specifically states it only applies to weapons and small objects that could be stored in a belt pouch, bandolier, or similar container. Also, the +2 shield bonus provided by your shield applies to AC and Reflex.

Regarding your lack of a ranged weapon, there are ranged weapons aboard the ship that you could access with a bit of digging around. Heck, you could even man one of the guns below deck if you feel so inclined.

And I don't understand why you are rolling 1d20+5 for the attack roll and 1d6+5 for the damage roll. By my account it should be 1d20+4, and 1d4+0, unless I am missing something.

And Wardens can only mark creatures they are adjacent to. Want to go for a swim?

Found objects are usually 1d6, no? And the +5 was my base attack bonus, or so I thought, and the damage is strength bonus, which unless I'm completely mistaken you add to thrown objects.

er, looks like you posted that as i was typing up the previous post. I'm ok with action pointing it too.

Improvised thrown weapons use DEX vs AC, no proficiency bonus, range 5/10, 1d4+DEX damage.

There are no rules for a heavy thrown improvised weapon, probably because the idea is that if something is heavy enough to be a heavy thrown weapon it is also too unwieldy to use it as an improvised weapon.

That being said, if you wanted to throw something that was big or heavy enough, I'd probably houserule it. But the lid of a barrel is most definitely not a heavy thrown weapon.
