Boros Aggro - not the pro tour one :P

A more beefy approach to the aggro deck, its currently untreatable on CC Bo3
Loxodon is the soft spot ATM, maybe I should add a bit more removal or the Pridemate tech... ideas?

The broader you go, the more profit from Heroic. Maybe this beefy build would profit more from Pride of Conquerors? I would probably also go for the full set of 4x Phoenix, they are just very beefy! I would not go for Pridemade tech in this approach by the way. And I would probably also try something more substantial for the shock, maybe Justice Strike or just go for Lava Coil? And instead of Loxodon you could perhaps try some Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants? Just some ideas, they may or may not actually work :D

I got my first bash in the head from Heroic last night. It hurt. Guess this deck (or at least the pro tour netdeck) is going to see more play now.

I had a really interesting game against a net decked white white weenie deck today. I went and shocked an adanto, he played 4 life, so I sacked a firebrand on adanto, which he played 4 more life, so I lightning struck the adanto, which he played 4 more life. I did 12 damage with 3 cards and 3 mana. Unfortunately he did his thing and got out a superwide board, loxodoned everybody and beat me with 2 attacks at 2 life because I drew too much land and no more burn.
Still, I loved the value I got out of my burn and the adanto.

Haha, I wasn't in that game but I was cool saving my Adanto from those exact three effects in one go. Opponent did not win that game
Tough decision though. Sometimes you have to let him die.

After trying a mono-white ascend build and deciding it wasn't good enough at reaching early ascends, I went and put together a boros build as a home for warboss.
I figured that warboss is actually a good way at achieving ascend, but I had to cut the benalias (because too many 3-drops). The result went 4-1 so far on best-of-1 ladder.

Creature (26)
4 x Dauntless Bodyguard
2 x Healer's Hawk
4 x Skymarcher Aspirant
4 x Adanto Vanguard
4 x Snubhorn Sentry
4 x Benalish Marshal
4 x Goblin Warboss

Sorcery (4)
4 x Heroic Reinforcements

Instant (2)
2 x Pride of Conquerors

Enchantment (5)
2 x Legion's Landing
3 x Conclave Tribunal

Planeswalkers (1)
1 x Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants

Land (22)
14 x Plains
4 x Sacred Foundry
4 x Clifftop Retreat

Lol, snubs is a 1-drop, not really competing with the history.
More like warboss over history. Problem I've found is you can't play both.
This build is trying to ascend asap, snubs is one of the few white pay-offs and a decent one at that.

So what needs to happen that you rather draw a Snub than History? A game with 10 permanents but only 2 lands? Let's create christmas-land. Not 2 lands but 5, City's Blessing and you get to play a Snub followed by Heroic Reinforcements. Is that scenario that relevant?

Pardon my ignorance but I fail to see how that accomplishes anything but tanking your "deck-strength"-rating.

If you go back through my posts, you'll find that I started out with Snubs, even invested the 4 wildcards because I wanted to try the approach yet not invest uncommons just then. They kind of failed.

That's not the problem at all. An aggro deck doesn't want a hand full of 3-drops, that's all. You want to play as many threats as possible early, which you can't with 3-drops until you have 6 lands. Extra 1-drops is what aggro decks want. If you want your curve loaded with 3-drops, your going into midrange territory which is not what I'm looking for.
In this case, I'm trying warbosses instead of histories. As for the snubs, well I'm also just testing them (hadn't bothered with earlier builds) as pay-offs for getting to ascend. They've been decent so far, but I find their son draw-back is actually that they are a tell that you want to reach ascend and so they start counting your permanents and actually waste turns removing stuff instead of trying to race you.
Snubs are also interesting with the warboss, because mentoring them is easy. The other 3-drop I could cut is the marshal, but marshal also works better with the warboss.
In case I wasn't clear, the build-around is the warboss and ascend is a side-plan.
I'm not saying this is the best boros aggro deck available, I just really like the warboss but I've found it has been nudged out of decks because of other premium 3-drops (history in boros, chainwhirler in red).

How would you build a warboss deck?

But Snubs don't fit the bill of an early threat. 0 power doesn't reduce the opponent's life.

Warboss never inspired me to make a deck to be honest. Maybe Goblin tribal? Like you said, both red and white have more outstanding 3-drops. It's a very good Limited card imo.

The advantage of warboss vs history is that it's an immediate threat and a must-kill one. History takes at least a turn to start doing damage.

Deck has actually been performing pretty well as is, after 20 games with a 67% win-rate.
Snubs aren't an immediate threat, that's true, but they can brickwall opponent's early threats and then T5-T6 become substantial threats all of sudden. They work like sleeper agents, transforming from harmless walls into medium sized beaters. They also survive chainwhirlers, which can't be said for most of the other 1-drops and opponents seldom want to blow removal on them either. They're probably the only 1-drop that doesn't die to most 1-mana removal.
They haven't been stellar, but they've mostly filled their role without annoying me too much.
The card that underperformed for me was heroic reinforcements. Either I did need it or when I did, it didn't show up.

You want to run a mono white deck with a red card?

Just replace anything with Frenzy (baseline being Bayesta93's deck).

I run 2 Frenzy and 2 Banefire main because I lack 2 Histories and 2 Legion's Landings. Both cards are great from time to time.

If you have every card available, I'd probably start cutting with the Knight of Grace. Don't think I'd want 4 Frenzies though. Redundant copies in your hand are obviously bad.

Are you looking for 60 or 75? Suppose the latter is easier to build for you just take everything and make aggressive adaptions post-board. For 60 you might want a little mix of everything.
