Post subject:  OBS recording sound issue

Trying to record gameplay with OBS and when I go back to watch the recording the sound cuts/fades in and out. It hasn’t done this on any other games I’ve noticed. Any idea what it may be?
AMD 5600x
3070ti
32 gb ddr4
1tb WD SN750 m.2
I have the latest drivers for everything. Had to be some sort of bit rate is off or something?
Thanks

I have 0 knowledge on the subject, but I'd guess the game might matter. What game were you trying to record?

As someone who has done a lot of recording work, it's weird for it to fade in and out. I would expect distortion or stuttering with data loss, not variable sound levels. So call this post intellectual curiosity with no real expectation to be able to help you.

Does your mic run on phantom power and if so is your power supply weak maybe?

I'm surprised that matters. Wouldn't it just be on or off rather than fading in or out? I didn't think phantom power could fail that way, outside of really unusual corner cases where there are many mics connected to a single power source.

If it IS possible, USMCbudder should definitely check if their cables are loose or damaged.

I “think” it had something to do with the bit rate settings. I watched a lot of videos and it works fine now after resetting many things lol.
Thanks for the tips guys!
