My personal opinion: It's just okay, nothing more nothing less. But I will keep playing it.

I watched a bit of Day9's first playthrough, and I think he made a good point when he said that the game is what an early open beta should be, which is a functional game which still needs a lot of polish.

It looks so boring

I was invited to closed beta. Does not work with Windows 7 so I said **** it. 7 was minimum and now in the open beta they've made it 8. I'll have nothing to do with it.

Magic Legends - seemingly best described as a Diablo clone in the MTG Universe and for sure Planeswalkers are likely to feature heavily (they should consider legendary creatures too).

But yes I have a hunch this will be expensive micro transaction heavy to get anywhere near it even reaching as good as Diablo III!

Likely to come to consoles but probably one to avoid.

It is. I was involved in the closed beta but all the sudden it wouldn't work on my system and that's when they decided the game will not be supported on any less than Windows 10. I love my Windows 7 pro and surely will go to 10 one of these days (both my kids run it) but I sure as hell wasn't going to upgrade my operating system for just one game. Holy was in the closed Alpha and in talking to them I was really looking forward to testing it. Very disappointing.

Wuster just admited to having robot kids.

Well if it's only a matter of time before going to Windows 10, then why not now? Besides, Windows 7 is no longer being supported, so there are other reasons to go to 10.

Some of the criticism, like "summoning a zombie boar that stands there and headbutts people is just a slightly different version of a skeleton that stands there and slashes people with a sword", is very relatable. It is open beta though, maybe the game will be more polished when released.

It doesn’t matter if it’s in beta. Once you start accepting money in a free to play game’s shop where anyone sho wants can get into the “beta”; you’ve basically released it as far as the public reaction is concerned.

The game improved a lot since the start of the beta.
If they continue this trend, then the game could be actually good at release.

This is a very good point. The fact that you can fully profit from a playable game while blaming any issues on the fact that it is not actually "released" is shady to say the least. But it is unfortunately the standard the industry has set.

Wow, for a game to shut down during a beta and when it's being actively updated is unusual. The statement doesn't say why they're shutting down, too.

I suppose that just means one fewer game to keep on my watch list.

Let's be honest, a game in "beta" with a full monetisation system already set up isn't in beta, it's released but they want an excuse for criticism

Still though, i think it's only been out like 3 months, it must've really flopped to pull the plug that quickly
