I am not a fan of banning field.
The deck is too strong, but field isn't toxic/unfun in my opinion.

Honestly for me banning field of the dead (which they are absolutely going to do btw, this is why they're switching dates) would only be putting a plaster over this meta, there's wayyyyy too much wrong with it:

Teferi, time raveler should've been banned months ago, card is the complete opposite of what fun is, pretty much every card needs to pass the test of "how does this line up against teferi" before it can even get considered to be played - bonus points for it being able to randomly bounce artifacts and enchantments

Oko, thief of crowns is just dumb, card has way too much loyalty, and the +1 should have been a -2, if creature based decks can't answer an Oko in a turn or two it's gg, and even if they can they probably spent too many resources doing so, meaning they've lost anyway

Obviously field of the dead if it survives, no deck can compete with it late game, no idea how no one noticed that all the good land hate was rotating and they hadn't printed any decent new ones

When you have to make something as blatantly pushed as questing beast to make up for your mistakes with these planeswalkers and field of the dead and it STILL doesn't do the job you know they done goofed.

also, bonus points to WOTC for making the buy a box promo's with the intention of them being fun cards not overtly powerful and then mess up immediately with nexus of fate and now again with Kenrith, the returned king being a huge part of all the fire of invention lists haha

Banning field is silly imo. The card isn't broken, wizards just failed to create any archetypes that are as good as it. Banning or restricting circuitous route would actually kinda make sense, as that's the main card that makes Field decks broken.

Kenny is not only fires now, it’s played in Golos decks too for massive zombie rushes out of nowhere.

Could easily be no changes to Standard, Arcum's Astrolabe banned in Pauper. There are overpowered cards in Standard, but they did say they try to avoid banning Standard cards because when a card is sold it's a silent contract with the player that it'll be playable for roughly 2 years, something like that.

I don't actually blame WOTC for field too be honest, although i do think it will get the banhammer, the card itself isn't really that exceptional it's just we have the perfect environment for it, and lots of little things aligned perfectly for it.

- Circuitous route and Golos make fetching up the different land types easy - even if route was Explosive vegetation the deck would be much less consistent

- Arbor grazer roadblocking aggro perfectly - if it was an 0/2, or hell didn't have reach flyers and aggro decks would be able to stomp them before they could get online.

- Counterspells don't exist thanks to baby tef, meaning the deck being sorcery speed and clunky doesn't matter at all

- Literally all the hate rotated at the same time, no field of ruin, no alpine moon / blood sun meaning our only remotely playable answers to it are assassin's trophy, casualties of war andagent of treachery all of which have major drawbacks

I run 3 tectonic rift in Gruul, works fairly well tbf

An interesting thing about 3tef is that it is less played after the rotation. FotD decks don’t run it anymore because they don’t need to instant speed scapeshift. Esper Hero is gone. Explore/command is gone. It is still run by: Bant Nissa, Esper Stax, Jeskai Fires Superfriends. A large portion of the meta doesn’t run it. Not saying that it’s safe to run counters, but it’s getting less crazy.

I survived T2 Oko yesterday with Mono-black. I had the good fortune to play Karn, and somehow found a Sorcerous Spyglass in the sideboard I didn't even remember putting there.
