I think the concept of the event is iffy since having only a few cards from ELD is not a good indicator of what will change. It's basically just a Ravnica-only event.

I have been reading people are generally unhappy with the event because of the strict two consecutive wins structure. I am sweeping up with a black-red sacrifice deck (since my usual red-white-black Aristocrats loses its mana base to have a three-color aggro deck) so I haven't run into this issue but I can see why this would be frustrating.

White-blue tiny flyers seems popular.

It's literally just an added bonus of experience if you get 2 wins. Who could mad about that? It's literally a benefit with zero drawbacks.

Magic's a simple game, 2 people take turns playing cards and in the end Divinevert wins 2-0...

I have noticed that gaming communities tend to feel like if an option exists, it should always be accessible to them. Things cannot ever be a bonus or extra for those who pay or do more; if it exists, it has to be relatively easily available.

Yesterday, I saw people complaining about the showcase versions of ELD cards. It's not enough that these exist in premium boosters, they should be more available for people who don't want to or are unable to pay for the higher cost packs.

How quickly the universe owes them something.

This format has been feeling rather unfun so far. Decks snowball so easily, e.g. I've seen things like these happen too often:

T1 land T2 Incubation Druid T3 Vivien +1
T1 Spectral Sailor T2 Loyal Pegasus + Spectral Sailor T3 the 7/7 flying indestructible angel

When these curve-outs happen, especially on the play, there's like literally no card in the entire format that will beat them. I suppose without Llanowar Elves decks snowball slower, but these things are still very miserable to play through and there's no Nexus combo to go over the top of these decks as well. (Although I also imagine part of the misery stems from the fact it's BO1, and come to think of it, T3 Sorin on the play is just as unfun.)

So far not a fan, but still have more cards to be revealed.

Never a fan of events that over-use RNG. I really dislike RNG, which is one of two major reasons I've been playing Magic over Hearthstone even during the different Duels iterations.

This time it's Bo1 combined with the need to win 2 in a row to actually get something. But I don't need the event - so whatever.

And @Banedon:
How can you not like a beautiful curve-out like that? There's no need for pestilence to keep beauty in check ;)

Yes, you don't win that game - but it provides you a smile and you get to play the next within 2 minutes.

You're more patient than me ;)

What's everyone playing in this format? I've tried Temur Reclamation & Simic ramp, but don't find either deck very fun. Temur would be great if it weren't for the existence of T3feri, while Simic ramp is sometimes great and sometimes ridiculously awful when you need to interact. Only four pieces of removal are the Voracious Hydra, and it's not even that good an interactive card against e.g. Feather.

Haven't gotten around to making a control deck, but those seem to make most sense.
