This thread is for all discussion regarding the Mastery System put into place with the M20 release. I'm going to move the convo we started in the Promo Codes thread here:

25 xp would be 1 level after 40 days so you'd only complete the entire system 2-3 days early if you got 15 wins most days.

Yeah, thing is, you miss out on xp if you don't play every day - 200 xp down the drain. That's one complaint they could easily fix with some kind of catch-up mechanic. Like every sunday you get to catch up to 7k for the week. But then, I expected it to be worse. With most of the exp tied to the quests, you can get quite a lot of xp by logging in twice a week.
The other complaint is people being afraid of there not being enough time to even get to 100 - gotta see about that.

Regarding your calculation: 1/10 in 1/12 weeks isn't that much ;)

We're now 1 week into it and I'm at level 12. That's after 2 XP boosting Promo Codes and getting every daily quest reward. I'm actually at 800xp so maybe I missed a days worth of 200xp from the first 3 daily wins. Did anyone hit lvl 13 today?



Since I hit level 12 I figured I'd share that I got TWO Ilharg, the Raze-Boar when I got the "Mythic Card Reward." I'm happy with that. That puts me at 4 after the 2 I drafted so I'll probably do something with them. Let us know what your Mythic reward was.

I'm currently lv. 12 0 XP with 2 open quests and no daily rewards (Have not played yet today), so I can get to lv. 13 with 800 XP today. The 800 XP are from a quest that was carried over from June 30 to July 1 - the XP gain was added then.

9 daily quests + 9 daily rewards = 9.000 XP
2 codes for 2 levels each = 4.000 XP
1 quest carried over from June 30 to July 1 = 800 XP

Thus, without having spent gems on XP, the highest you can be with the methods known would be lv. 14 with 600 XP (with a second quest carried over)

Level 12 myself and think I stopped at 350 xp toward level 13 last night. It is seeming worth it to me as I don't have a lot of time to play and it's increasing the rewards I would normally get in the time I do have. It bothers me a little that I did it as normally I would throw in $20 when the new set comes out to do a Sealed and a couple Drafts. Now I have to throw in a second $20 if I want to play those.

If you reach rank 96 you'll have received 20 500G prizes, so that's 2 free ranked drafts. Plus the 10 200gem prizes (by level 99) so that's either 1 Sealed, 1 Traditional Draft (500 left over), or another 2 ranked drafts (again 500 left over). So you can earn that $20 back in the long run.


You both skipped a question from the OP; If you guys are lvl 12, what'd you get for your Mythic Reward?

That's odd. I got 2 Ilharg's when I hit lvl 12. I hit lvl 12 with the daily quest as I had only 2 daily wins up to that point, so the second was not a daily win reward. What else gives cards as rewards? Did I just get lucky?

The introduction of the Set Mastery completely replaced the weekly quests.

The newest change just replaced the exp for daily wins to exp for weekly wins.

Yeah, I think my 5th win just aligned with the mastery booster, so I made a hasty assumption there. I stand corrected.

Although, it seems it's basicly the same level of rewards, possibly even bigger with the orbs and the cosmetics.
Not to mention the elemental cat pet. Who could live without that, when bored waiting for Esper control to take an action. Click. Click. Clickyliclikyliclick!
