Was just made aware of this card's existence the other day by Haven, and I just thought I HAVE to make a deck with it. I just love storm and all sorts of spell copying shenanigans, I think that's the way Izzet really is supposed to feel like, with complex spell combos and stack manipulation.
This is what I'm playing with so far, in the spirit of true creature-less Izzet: (although a few copies of
Niv-Mizzet, Parun would probably not be a bad idea)
3x
Shock4x
Lava Coil3x
Lightning Strike2x

Memorial to GeniusIt's a fun deck to play when you can actually get the storm out, but yeah, it's not very reliable. It struggles a lot vs decks that go wide, and the
Arclight Phoenix/
Crackling Drake self-mill style izzet is definitely more reliable. But I really want to make a true storm deck work, even if it's probably not going to be that successful in the current meta.
Runaway Steam-Kin could probably be an idea to help survive the early game, and even be a wincon.
Primal Amulet also seems like a good fit for this deck, but I'm not sure what I'd cut for it, and if it would be worth it.
Niv-Mizzet, Parun as mentioned probably deserves a spot in here too. There's also some recursion shenanigans with some wizards, like
Naru Meha, Master Wizard,
Naban, Dean of Iteration and something like
Siren's Ruse that could make for some fun combos here maybe. Splashing black or white for sweepers could probably be a good idea too.
Brass's Bounty might have some interesting near-infinite combo potential in here aswell, but damn it's expensive.
Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts on this card, any interesting interactions it could have, or otherwise any suggestions for fun ways to build a spell recursion deck that'd make ye olde Niv-Mizzet proud, that'd be awesome.
