Anyone else find it funny than RDW’s ‘God Draw’ now actually includes drawing a god?

Wasn't until Dominaria that i realised that it was weird that Legendary was a downside, when it really feels like it should be a positive thing

Hey DJ, are you in Houston? Last year Montreal had 24 murders. Houston, same size as Montreal, hit That number 32 days into the year. What do you think explains that insane difference? I’ve met folks from Houston and they seemed totally chill. If the murder rate was just double, it wouldn’t be a big deal but this is like 11x more. Same population density.

Tbh, we don’t really think about it much. It’s also, shockingly, not that high compared to other US cities. I think it’s got a lot to do with the heterogeneity of the Houston population, and neighborhoods.

As for folks from Houston being chill, well yeah man, yeah.

Houston doesn't even make the top 30.

Speaking of, there's a top 30 for cities with a high murder rate in the U.S. Top 5 are:

#1. St. Louis
#2. Baltimore
#3. Detroit
#4. New Orleans
#5. Birmingham

Nation's capital is #11.

I brought up Houston cuz it’s the same size and similar density to Montreal, but drastically different murder rate. Trying to figure out the drivers of that.

Birmingham?? Ugh, that’s brutal. I figured it would be a nice and folksy place to live. Surprised Chicago didn’t make top five

What's a shame is by those numbers you'd never think the St. Louis area is an awesome place to live. Then again, I'm white, so that's probably the reason. I would also assume the murder rate is per capita and St. Louis is not a very big big city. I've lived in a few different places. Always come back to this area.

it's typically murders per 100k population per year. I don't know if people are using different metrics. It's a very important and telling statistic about the relative safety and violent crime of an area. It's how you know that some countries like Hondouras are like Syria (a warzone) and you didn't even realize it.

Yikes!! That just totally wrecked a bunch of assumptions I had made

It’s funny that the capital punishment levels are identical

The statistic is #murders per 100K people.

Chicago is around #25.

Having Arch of Orazca ready to go feels kinda silly when you also have an Arguel's Blood Fast available.

Yeah, I could effectively pay 6 for one card...but drawing three sounds a bit better. Who needs life anyway?
