Mac was announced as the next platform so you hopefully don't have long to wait to run smooth.

A word of advice to all the mac users...
BootCamp runs this thing smooth, but you gotta have your hardrive with no partitions before you make one WITH bootcamp otherwise you are going to hit a brick wall.
This is what you should do if you have more than 1 partition:

1. Create one bootable USB with your prefered OSX - I used El capitan when this thing worked, and after that I updated to sierra-
2. Create one bootable usb with windows 10 -download the iso file from microsoft
3. Make a backup of your important files
4. Start your mac holding down ALT, choose the Osx bootable usb you previously made
5. Format your Hardrive with disc utility - yes you read that right- you need to boot the system from the usb or you are not going to be able to do this
6. Install your osx
7. make a partition using bootcamp as soon as you finish the osx install /50-80GB should be more than enough
8. Follow bootcamp instructions
9. Install Arena and ENJOY!

Well been away for Arena again for some time. Not even been following the CGB series :(. To cap it all I appeared to have stepped on laptop (was on floor in slip case) so now screen on the fritz :( :( :(.

All not lost though as I can run through the Bravia TV via hdmi connector. But, and it’s a big but. The time away I have not really missed (and put to good use on other activities). It’s also always been a pain in the a**e as Mac is main laptop having to “set up” the laptop just to play.

Caught a few of latest posts suggesting economy is not working out to be too bad. That’s good to hear. I plan therefore to have a final swan song this weekend (no doubt discovering the meta may not have moved on too much and if a decent RDW can still do a good job whilst a jankier build gets owned by the try hards (you know the usual stuff) following which I will retire from the beta play until such time the game launches properly and comes to MAC as I have heard advertised.

I also do so wish they put in a casual versus mode where friends can matchup so we can see a return to the tournament format on these boards and a lot more participation.

Until then folks! SD

EDIT: well the swan song finally complete. In a way it was very similar to the general experience I have had in playing since Arena landed. I did not see a huge difference in the meta, the same sort of variety. Played to the 15 wins for the 3 packs. Spent the accrued gold on my final Kaladesh packs. I played my RDW to similar results from previously. Most losses were due to either mana screw or mana flood. Both in equal measure. Odd to understand or adjust at 22 lands. I built a final jank deck - a mono blue artifact / flyer deck. There were a few tweaks but it seemed to do pretty well. Padeem as a 2 of and the full set of foundry inspectors, confiscation coup, barral’s expertise, opened the new blue flyer that gets increases power with the no of islands cast. With Glyph Keeper and padeem the hexproof approach seemed to fare well. For sure the best of the last matches with that deck. Towards the end the RDW build (a fairly decent near Tier 1 build) just mana flooded way too often. The mono blue seemed to fair better. The main meta seemed to be red / black aggro or black / blue control. Had one Teferi ult loss. Overall same old same old.

Not seen really any news on the actual real release / platform info but assume it should be when Return to Ravnica hits next month. Anyway that’s it from me folks until this thing gets the full launch and importantly lands on Mac platform. It would be ideal to see it on iOS mobile but unless they implement true cross platform (collection perspective) I would only ever play on one platform, never again with separate collections across different platforms - that is just crazy in the modern games Arena (pardon the pun!) My PC is a desktop, so I've been doing most of my arena gaming on my android phone via Google remote desktop. Don't know if you can get it running on a Mac (albeit running windows), but I don't need a monitor to play.
There's a little bit of lag, so complicated combo decks are out of the question, but it works pretty well.
Let's me get a game or 2 in while I'm in bed before going to sleep.

Are you allowed to do that? Happy-birthday-necro a thread that you had already happy-birthday-necro'd in the past?

This hobby of yours is getting more and more distasteful with each passing instance.

Your birthday message actually got lamer this time around.

I have it on Mac now but the official version via epic Games. The usual install of around 4gb after the launcher. Runs well on my 2011 i7 MacBook Pro with SSD. I have the 2 accounts now and play just twice a week for quests but decent number of competitive decks in particular the mono colour decks which are handy playing the quests where one colour is common against more than one of the three quests. I have decent creature. Land and kill creature decks for those types of quest. Over 16K on both accounts so in a good spot for ftp and next set drop in September. SD
