Does this “AI” always play the same cards - memory jog for when corpse hauler or razorfoot griffin were auto include for the AI. I guess anointer priest is filling that slot these days.

i try again, does the game have ai bots that you can face? because i have had 2 games last night vs "players" where everything they did looked like an ai bot.

the name, the card selection, their playstyle specially considering



it played anointer priest , sacred cat and embalmed them. nothing else (much)

There is currently no AI play in Arena. I guess opponents can play like a dumb AI, (and I am not immune to that) but for better or worse (probably the former) we will not see AI playing Arena. Probably a good job. Stainless took a lot of stick with their programming. It’s got to be worse than chess because the possible combinations of cards and e.g. synergy is unbounded.

One good thing in latter days of Magic Duels is that deck diversity v AI got a whole lot better. Although it did tend to mid range grindy decks both the auto deck builder and match v own deck was decent enough (e.g. versus Aggro it would play lifegain or similar).

Of course could not pilot a vehicle with any sort of sense but that’s a good example of ‘simple enough in practice’ but a real challenge to get intelligent AI.

As long as the developers focus on getting all the card interactions working properly we should have less complaints than under the Stainless era. To be fair the AI programming is not an easy thing but they also had some serious card mechanic bugs and also other ‘decisions’ like hold priority that were ill conceived and they got slated for!

Oh i get it now, good question. If there is no AI then there is no single player variant when ch would be awful for me

We need some modders to wire the Magic Duels AI to play as an Arena client.
Also, OP, what is "AI talking"? Did it get stuck in the "Hello!" loop until you replied?

well i have concluded with your help that this wasn't ai afterall ^^

the guy just played in a very robot way. after every use of embalm a "hello" was odd. and the name didn't look like your average player either.

but he has posted on the mtg:arena boards ;p
