really like the sound of it though. The vault is a great idea and much easier to deal with excess cards compared to dust and crafting

Wildcards are so cool and are going to give me major analysis paralysis on deciding what to use them for

Getting coins and free cards per win is cool

Keeper drafts sounds like a fun way to build a collection

I don’t think I will ever buy gems. I’m sure we can earn them other ways

I actually quite like the general idea of the system, but of course it all really comes down to how generous the actual grind is, but by itself i see nothing wrong with it

I really liked it, it has lots of layers coz it has to address the fact that you will have to grind a huge a mount of cards... the Wild cards, the vault and the fact that you get to keep the drafted cards is a lot more than I was expecting.

So, the economy foundation looks solid, however with the current allocation of rewards the grind is eternal and not fun at all. We need to get them to tweak the rewards. Guys, please go to the Beta forums and complain.

Yeah, right now the game is dead on arrival, but hopefully they wanted to start harsh and tone it down rather then vice versa which would make people more salty, but then again...WOTC haha

Agreed. I haven't played an extreme amount but over the past three days I've played at least ten games and have won quite a few. So far it has netted me 1400 in gold, what, one common per win and haven't even made the vault gauge all the way once yet.

Yondar I guess u can’t get into specifics ? Like how many wins to be able to buy something?

According to Reddit the economy sucks it will take more than 3 months to build a tier 1 deck, if they release 5 sets on launch, I don’t think you will be able to catchup... ever, but then again the beta is still missing draft and gems so maybe that can speed things up.

Obviously the gems speed it up, draft gives you a fun environment to grind in

But if 95-99% of players are in the same boat as you, isn’t it going to be fun trying to grind when most people are basically playing pauper decks?

You’ll know because there will be decks you want which are missing specific cards. But tbh, if the grind is really bad, that may not be enough. Hard to say.

The thing that will make it much worse: if there’s no starting pool whatsoever. That was probably one of the smartest features of the old game.

Is there going to be any kind of single player element for Barney?

I think the NDA says we can't give exact figures, but from the stream today it's 1000 for a pack of 6 cards, and you get 200 for the first win of the day, and another 50 for the third win, i think that's all they showed on stream so far, but i think you can judge how fun it is.

And if I can’t judge that, just tell me how much fun it is

Barney, I got the invite a few hours ago. I did a 6-0 run, completed 2 out of 3 quests, got some bonuses etc. and still can't buy a single pack :-) luckily there are some free cards for winning, but the grind is slow. I do play Dinos though, so the games are pretty quick.

It seems awful to me

I've managed to win enough for two packs so far and not impressed. I bought with gold and the damn thing just flew directly into my collection. I have no idea what cards I've gotten in those two packs as I didn't have an exact count on my original collection.
It's rough to play anything other than Dinos if you are grinding for wins. Flavor and Control have no foothold there.
