you know what's really hurtful is that folks voting for the first or second time won't get numbers 9&8 and maybe 3.

OMG thank you for mentioning that movie. I hadn't heard of it but it looks amazing. Jean Reno is a great actor (except that Godzilla abomination). Penguins are my spirit animal.

There's only limited viewing in my area so I'm going to have to see it soon.

Omg it was actually really good. Total surprise, hit me out of nowhere, right in the feels.

It’s absolutely nuts that it’s Jean Reno in this role cuz he always plays hitmen or mercenary for hire. And here he is in a super emotionally complex role. Really amazing.

Best penguin movie ever too. You really get to know this little guy, migration habits, etc

I think I liked it better than Alien Romulus lol

It’s a true story too

Idk about that dude, best penguin movie ever... March of the Penguin with Morgan Freeman was really good and Happy Feet is one of my top 5 animated movies. That's a bold statement man.

Think I'm going to try and see Longlegs this wednesday before it leaves theatres. I've heard good things, like it's ALMOST the next Silence of the Lambs

Happy feet top 5?!!??
Pixar, dreamworks, Disney and Ghibi each have 5 better movies than happy feet... Just yikes...

Also ALMOST the next Silence of the Lambs isn't much to go by... I saw a reel about some actress that got super scared of N. Cage... It got me wanting to watch it tho.

I'm trying to convince my wife to go watch Romulus on the big screen... Also I think I saw that Furiosa is on Max.

Bro. I'm worried about you. We're sitting here talking about animals and your mind goes straight to didling little boys. Are you okay? Do you need to see a professional?

Faaaaak, just got out of Longlegs, that was some movie. Imagine if Stanley Kubrick directed Silence of the Lambs, it’s a bit like that. The blood is still rushing to my head and I’ve been out of the theatre for 20 minutes.

Nick Cage is completely unrecognizable and gives a perfect somewhat adjacent to Heath Ledger’s joker it terms of completely demented villian. It’s fantastic

Can’t believe the senior FBI agent is Blair Underwood, he came to my high school once. Used to be a fan of his. Glad to see him in this with a much more baritone voice given his age now.

Here is the headline of my review if I ever was to write one:

« It’s like if Kubrick took 61 stabs at doing his own Silence of the Lambs »

Man
This Acolyte show isn’t very good

I would see Longlegs ahead of Romulus and I’m the biggest Alien fan

Oh right, I have HBO, I could watch that potentially.

I’m gonna finish Acolyte then do Fallout then maybe go back to The Leftovers which I’ve never finished

—-

Good Christ is this Acolyte show ever empty. Two episodes left. This is by far the worst show. All the other ones have SOMETHING going for them

—-

I keep thinking of Longlegs and how deep it is. Really hope someone sees it, I keep unpacking it in my mind and discovering new nuances of cool stuff that I haven’t seen done before. The Art direction and directing are incredible

I have to say, BB, your loyalty to the Star Wars franchise is amazing to me. I quit years ago at this point. I can't imagine your patience. From what I've heard, the Acolyte is terrible, but you're actually watching it. With no judgement, why?

Unpopular opinion: The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, Ahsoka, and The Acolyte are all great TV shows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Darkstar, I used to think that too but Acolyte is the first that is really horrid. All the others are either great (Andor and Mando) or have something going for it which made it enjoyable:

Boba Fett - tusken raider lore
Ashoka - Thrawn and that cool old sith dude
Obi-Wan - incredible production value

But Acolyté’s editing makes the end of each episode super weird and laughable, and the writing is terrible. The character choices make very little sense which just fills the show with all these plot holes. I got two episodes left but I really think it stinks

DJ, yeah think of it very similar to a heroin addict. I’m constantly chasing that first high again and again. New Hope, Empire but especially Rogue One, Mando and especially Andor all give me huge highs. The first experience of these entries were so awe-inspiring that I’m willing to risk disappointment. I don’t touch the cartoons tho. I only saw the Clone Wars movie and saw a pink
R2 unit girlfriend for R2D2 and I think I was done with the cartoons at that point.

I’d sooner question my dedication to the Alien franchise which has a far worse track record.
