Ya, who knows at this point. There’s been enough Trump is Literally Hitler stuff in the zeitgeist that I could see some attempting to kill him for that reason. Could see it being a Dem supporter freaking out over Biden post debate situation and ensuring Trump doesn’t win by a bullet. Could also see it being some crazy right winger attempting to kick off a civil war or make a martyr of Trump. Impossible to know at this stage

You know while I don't like the man or 99% of his politics I am glad he survived the attempt. For one, It's messed up to assassinate someone and two could you imagine the fallout if they guy's aim had been better?

So the shooter was both a registered Republican and donated money to the Democrats.

We still have no idea what the motive was, and the motive is definitely going to matter.

Note: a lot of Democrats registered as Republicans during the primaries to try and vote against Trump’s candidacy.

Coz there's thousands of words being written about this... The story that gets told will be significant.

But it’s just cuz everyone is curious and Trump is a dominant media figure, right? It’s basically just gossip. It shouldn’t actually matter at all. The guy tried to murder a presidential candidate and the law will punish him accordingly. I can’t even imagine why the motive would even begin to matter


Further, the more noteriety (sp?) this guy gets, the more the behaviour gets normalized and then copycatted by future unbalanced individuals until eventually perfectly balanced individuals think it’s acceptable (more or less). This is what’s happened with mass shootings, basically, according to leading psychologists.

I’d rather see no attention at all brought on the individual and we move on while the Justice system has their day

It matters coz he unlike Taylor Swift Trump has has true power, and will be leading the largest army ever know to humanity... It matters coz we live in a human world not a laws world... It matters coz we make sense to the human experience through stories and emotions... Stories matter.

I don’t think of any of that matters. A presidential candidate getting shot matters. I don’t the reasons behind it matter at all, in the grand scheme of things.
