I was wanting more and more Drill bit... So I added 2 more Duress type effects...

You running Agonizing Remorse? Think those are pretty good now since they can hit Titans in the yard as well. Have seen some control decks running them

Yup that is the card... I could not remember the name of it :D
I´m havent been able to hit a titan with it yet tho...

Discard spells are working good but... I think I need more pepper on the top end I am running 24 lands already coz I really want to hit my 3rd land drop on curve but I´m curving out at 3 cmc... so I got those Shepherds into the mix again and added a couple of Cavaliers -took the idea from a Karsten deck while I was looking up those super fun mana articles- I´m loving this last iteration.

Image

Sideboard
3 Duress (M19) 94
2 Pharika's Libation (THB) 111
2 Epic Downfall (ELD) 85
2 Disfigure (M20) 95
3 Noxious Grasp (M20) 110
3 Claim the Firstborn (ELD) 118

I didnt knew that Black had a way to soft deal with enchantments...

Rakdos Sac importable pile

Karsten Tips and tricks
You can target your own creatures with Claim the Firstborn. This can be useful to untap and/or give haste to Priest of Forgotten Gods so you can get an extra activation that turn.

When playing against creatureless control decks, you can turn Claim the Firstborn into Lava Spike by giving a random Midnight Reaper haste.

Mayhem Devil triggers not only off of your own sacrifices, but also your opponent’ sacrifices. This includes Food tokens, Fabled Passage, or any permanent they sacrifice to Angrath’s Rampage or Priest of Forgotten Gods.

If you hold priority (i.e., hold Control when playing online) then you can sacrifice multiple Food tokens to the same Cauldron Familiar. This can come in handy when you want to get multiple Mayhem Devil triggers.

Always play your lands; don’t hold them to bluff. You’ll be thankful when you draw Castle Locthwain.

Rakdos Sacrifice has a surprisingly strong late-game. For example, you can sacrifice Cavalier of Night to Witch’s Oven, return Mayhem Devil, and “combo-kill” them out of nowhere with a large number of sacrifice triggers.

Don’t crack Fabled Passage unnecessarily because you might find Mayhem Devil, and the free point of damage is generally more important than deck thinning.

Normally, the activated ability of Priest of Forgotten Gods has only one target: your opponent. This means that a well-timed Veil of Summer will counter it. However, you can target yourself in addition to your opponent. In that case, Veil of Summer means that they won’t have to sacrifice, but you still get the mana and draw a card. This is sometimes worth it, especially if you control Mayhem Devil.

Sometimes it’s best to not return Cauldron Familiar at the end of your opponent’s turn. This is especially true when you are planning to cast Mayhem Devil next turn and could use a free ping or if you control Theater of Horrors.

The dream is to assemble Witch’s Oven + Cauldron Familiar + Mayhem Devil, which yields two pings and one drain for free every turn. However, Witch’s Oven + Gutterbones + Mayhem Devil is also a decent engine: It yields two pings and three life for five mana each turn.

Extra copies of Witch’s Oven are not dead draws, because they allow you to return and trigger Cauldron Familiar multiple times per turn.

Ch...ch...ch... chaaanges!!!

So the meta is on full temur adventures hell dimension and we now need main deck hate for artifacts!! yay!!!
Image
so this girl should buy us a couple winrate point there.
I´m testing one ATM but I think 2 is the right number

We also are dealing with UW and RDW ... and you know what deck has game vs all???!!
yeah our boy! MAYHEM DEVIL FTW!!

The other day I had a funky match vs a guy running Tymaret Calls the Dead and I must say I was very very impressed by it... so I checked I I had 2 so I burn the remaining 2 and got me a playset, the idea is to have more board to try to stabilize for the late game, this also boost up or GY in a huuuuuge way, coz this thing puts 7 cards there enabling WOE and Kroxa´s Escape.
Image

Last but not least I added a 2 order of the midnight, for Mayhem devil redundancy.

Image

Mayhem is the decks center piece and its great VS temur, Azorious and RDW.

So thoughts, opinions, critics are welcomed.

I can't remark enough how important is Tymaret calls the dead, the card is gas! bodies, sac trigger and GY all in one... I can't believe I overlooked it for this long!

This is some outside the box fun I can get behind. I'll see if I can build it when I get home and report back

If you build it cut the one carnival//carnage for the second shield breaker, I also added two Lilianas on the SB.

Yesterday I played vs this UW player spamming GG from T1 and here's how that went:

G1 I took it with out a sweet.
G2 and I had one Mayhem Devil, cat oven combo in place he then cast Elspheth conquers death on my Devil, next turn drops Trawler and starts spamming GG, on my turn I got my second Mayhem Devil into play back from the GY and recast it he cast Thirst for meaning on his upkeep dropping another Trawler to the GY and getting it back with ECD last chapter, the GGs intensifies... little he knew is that I had Lili on my hand and could not cast it the turn before coz ECD second chapter... So I start spamming GGs back at him, he goes into Nice and Your go...
I go Thinking... Then slam Lily with and Oops and he rage quits LOL
It was the best!!!

Currently on a 12-4 run with the deck.

You win 50% of the time on the play and 73% on the draw? Does not compute ...

Thinking about the 70% winrate on the draw it may have to do with securing your third land drop.

Last changes were, the addition to Dreadhorde Butcher, which gave us a few free wins on the play, maybe the final form uses Rankle, but I love Cavalier in this pile, it gives us some pretty cool tricks.

RAKDOS SAC

Fun stuff I would totally recommend it and I think its a solid meta call ATM.

I've been playing a ton of your older build and I'm loving it. You like the dreadhorde butcher over Mire Triton and Kroxa?

Mere Triton is meh... I love Butcher its super fun to clear the way with Devil and let him grow...
Kroxa is good... Sort of but in the end I 90% of the time want Woe...
4 Butchers really puts some pressure and sometimes he let's you make better trades.
In short I like it better... :)

Seen a lot of these decks running about and none of them seem to like baby chandra anymore - is there a reason she got dropped from most of these lists?

I would think that double red messes up the mana too hard, my mana runs so smoothly right now.
Maybe with check lands.

Played against the list with Kroxa, Tymaret Calls the Dead, and Mire Triton. It's significantly more dangerous than standard R/B sacrifice lists. Kroxa in particular is scary because it cannot be hit by Elspeth Conquers Death, but it's a 6/6 that forces card advantage every turn if it lives to attack, and thanks to Tymaret & Mire Triton opponent always seems to have cards to escape it. Have you tried it?

Oh man sorry I absolutely overlooked this comment.
I did try the Kroxas build but overall I like less Kroxa and more Woe, I ended up going from 2 to 1 then 0 then 1... And so on. Kroxa is good but the battle in the GY is real.
---
So with Ikiora this deck got 2 of the best new cards in the set.

ImageImage

Both cards are amazing!!!
One is the best removal in standard, the other is a sac outlet and tutor on a stick... For 2 mana... Ohh and it grows during the game... Stupid good stuff.
So now at 4 mana you can take your opponents creature with claim, sac it with Fiend for X=2 and you got a ticket for
-Kroxa
-Butcher
-Priest
Or you can take your cat and for the same 4 mana tutor Mayhem Devil.....
Yeah... That easy.

So we dropped the silliness of Tymaret calls death and went full spikes, and oh boy..... Ohhhhhhh boy this thing was good before... T1 last season.... Now it's much much better and consistent.

This is the new list and I will expect it to be T1 for this season.

Black is the new green.

Cards I overlooked

ImageImageImage

Less cuteness in the form of Claim, now just put a Deathtouch counter on Mayhem and machine gun the those lovely Gyruda decks.

Reaper bites the dust too, now we tutor what we want.

Lurrus just lets us do it all over again, Mire feeds the GY and provides a good blocker.

SICK!
Image

Anyone has thoughts?

It looks good man. I played with the version that you added Fiend Artisan in and it was great. First time I played him I didn't remember the "anytime you could play a sorcery" clause and lost. Another time, I didn't know how to use Heartless Act and lost a Mayhem devil to a 4/4 Krasis because I only removed 1 counter from it. DOH! I'm a little out of practice cuz I haven't been playing much lately. Time to get back into it.

Now that we have so much to do during our turns with activated abilities, should we go to 25 lands?
