I don't see why not its easy to port to any console and if they stick to what they said where they want to see what the players want then it could get on console if the players want it enough.

I agree - I don't see this coming to consoles.

IOS and Android though I believe are necessary for them to achieve their vision.

Can you imagine playing Hearthstone on a controller? I sure can't. MTG Arena is going to live or die based on its mobile/tablet presence and the control scheme will be designed for them.

the attach rate of digital magic on Xbox is really high. At least half a million right? I don't see them not doing that and the control scheme alone doesn't seem like a reason to not do it.

Why not? How is this any more difficult to operate from a controller than Magic Duels?

I suppose it might be a bit more annoying than duels what with stuff like free control of moving cards like in your hand or selecting the order of cards being put back in the deck or blockers, though even that stuff can be changed to work better for console.
To be honest actually that was really the only thing that out as extra work for the console; the free flowing cards in hands and when selecting stuff. Everything else looked like extra steps like toggling on/off full control mode can just add controls or something for manually tapping mana and whatever else it did.

Not exactly easy. Because each platform uses its own homegrown online opponent matching system. Unless Wizards create yet another system of their own, like battle.net or Uplay. They already have accounts.wizards.com, though...

You really think they would screw us again along with XBox?
I really don't see why they would say that just to screw multiple platforms in the end. Wizards cannot be blind to the ill will already felt by ps4 players. Would they really loose....
I can't even put into words.
If they screw PlayStation again I will never touch another of it their products ever!

Anyone tried watching the promotional video? I think only unbalanced people worked on this game. Everyone seemed nuts

Xbox one runs windows in the background. I guarantee it will come to Xbox, for what that's worth. Easiest port by far...

I wonder if priority stacks like if you connect Duels, play Ixalan prerelease and do an Ixalan event on MODO, would that give you 3x Priority?

It doesn't stack.

Main issue that I see with console ports is the paying online service on top of microtransactions, and the shared collections.

Mechanics-wise, I've always felt confy when playing past DotP on my xbox controller. Not an issue at all; expecially when compared to mobile screens having to scour between endless tokens on a crowded board.
HS solves the boardstate clunking with a low cap on existing stuff, MtG can't do that if they want to keep a true MtG experience.

Personally, I wouldn't see this coming on consoles at all.
They jumped Playstation and Androids due to past developing issues, but now it's another thing altogether.

Nah. That's Ixalan Prerelease.
AFTER that, without specifying how much time after. Shouldn't be that much, tho.

Let's not feed the usual WotC misleading statements.

I think it won't be hard for them to port to console. They made the comment the game is built on unity. I know there is already a tool Microsoft gives to help convert unity games to xbone. The real issue is cross platform play. Switch, xbox already are doing cross plateform. Several games on xbox allow for playing with the PC master race. Several games if you own them on xbox you also have access to the digital version for PC. Sony so far hasn't supported cross plateform. https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/15/1580 ... k-response

There are a lot more people on the PS4 than the other consoles so they may just develop it for them anyway but I just see that as the main issue and it's not even something WotC has control over.

As far as keyboard and mouse vs a controller, that might not even be a factor for the xbone :P

I can't wait to see all the complaining during the beta-wipes.
First thing I'll do is turn off sound effects, because listening to PWs jabber on is going to get annoying really quickly.
Time to check out the ixalan spoilers...

My :two: on this product and what it tells me.

I think this is part of a new direction WotC has been headed towards since Hasbro hired Chris Cocks to be president of Wizards. He was an exec from Microsoft that was probably brought in to push the company(kicking and screaming) into the current digital age. In January of this year WotC made Jeffrey Steefel in charge of their new in house Digital Games Studio. https://www.kotaku.com.au/2017/01/wizar ... gathering/
That seems like it was a big step in the direction to own their digital product. It was also probably when the end of duels was decided, being a vestige of the old guard.

In the end they were leaving a lot on the table and Hearthstone proved that. "Hearthstone earns the company more than $20 million monthly in microtransaction revenue" https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/he ... n-monthly/

Without a doubt there will be issues but I am hoping this has been a new development in how they do business. I am hoping they really are trying to "listen" to the players and produce a quality digital product, something we have been taught not to expect. I think they are aiming to build a game that competes with Hearthstone for esports and broadcasting on Twitch/Youtube/Mixer. If they can pull it off, they won't mind cutting into some of their already established products because they will gain much more. I hope they succeed. Time will tell.
