You don't lose unspent R mana between steps and phases.

When (card) dies you may spend any amount of R mana and deal that much damage to any target.

How would that work? It takes a lot of turns to save the mana, and then you still need some kind of mana sink.

Certainly an interesting card with potential to build-around, but I'm skeptical it will see play in constructed (famous last words I know).

I mean is a cool effect on a body and even if they deal with it you get to do some extra damage, has the potential to snowball rather fast with how things are looking, red has some of the best new lands.

Also these modal dual face lands are something else, I think they will change the way decks are build in standard.

You dont have to use the mana for his last ability. You can use it to fuel rediculous turns with something like Experimental Frenzy or you can save up a turn or two and blow the mana on an X cost spell.

RDW can afford to leave 1 or 2 mana untapped for a shock or Dragonfire, so when you end up not using it, you just fill the mana pool.

I agree. I think people might start running 1 or 2 lands more, because your going to have 3-8 lands that will be spells once you hit all your land drops. Maybe more.

I was thinking of running it in a Rakdos shell. Build a crapload of mana and sac it to face for the win.
