So my favorite mono black deck had half the cards no longer legal in 21. So I crafted some new ones and got beat pretty good although they were some epic long matches which we really a lot of fun. This is my first time doing a new season so it’s all new to me of which mechanics are in and what are out. Like some of the new stuff I’ve never heard of. Like I had a great flow to my deck but lost a lot of that. I know it’s better to do multi color decks but I’ve had some great fast luck with mono black.

My question is does anybody have some good links for what’s hot this season and how the new mechanics flow with the other cards? Or an updated site that kinda describes the new play styles and what’s in or out? I noticed some of my decks are ok in standard but not in 21. I even had a couple historic cards I had to remove which I had no idea how they got that way.

Would suggest starting by reading that. My key takeaways are that Temur Clover is surviving virtually intact (only loses lands), and so is Boros Cycling. Monored loses a little but many of its best cards - Anax, Torbran and Embercleave - are all still around. Otherwise, Ugin and Uro are also still in Standard, and both cards are powerful enough to see play in Legacy/Modern. Finally Winota is another card to keep an eye on, simply because there're several new humans being printed.
