Lately, I’ve been having fun playing some 2-headed giant (D&D has taught me what an ettin is) games with a solid UR Mill/Burn deck I’ve called Mr. Mills, but which I now clearly see should be named Burnie Miller. This got me thinking about how much fun it might be to play a well-made support deck. Like, just removal and damage spells, or maybe some damage reduction. Basically, a noncreature spellfest to back up a partner’s line of chumps and pawns. Any ideas? |

The problem with going pure support is that you are screwed if you get paired with a useless partner (which seems to happen fairly often with randoms on iOS). You def want SOME sort of wincon. I think Thermo decks make for awesome support builds when oriented more for control than aggro. Lifegain control is the other lead candidate. Check out my iOS deck dump thread. It’s currently the top of page 2 of this forum. The Grix control list is solid. I also really enjoy the Archfiend control build, tho it’s seen a few updates since I posted it. I have an Abzan lifegain control list I need to put up that works well too. It’s a fun build because it weaponizes your lands, making every topdeck dangerous. |
