In these last days people talked a lot about decklist, win rate, top tier decks, Creeping Mold needing to be banned in every format, Trump, but i suppose it's normal given the new release.
We have tons of ideas in the constructed subforum, from trusted deckbuilders and guys. I wanna suggest a contest between them, a thing that is possible also using different platforms and also for anyone not joining the periodical tourneys.
The idea is simple: someone(say me) suggests a theme(say improvise) and anyone who wanna join can submit a decklist built around this theme or at least with a relevant part of it within a week. Then next week we make a poll and every person interested can test all these decks and vote for the one that performed better or that they liked more. It is a good chance also for other people to see the deckbuilding process and learn something and for the deckbuilders to gain even more reputation.
Maybe i should put also a constraint about having the same colors, but first let's see if people like this idea. We need at least 3 people to make it work. So cmon Modulo, Vert, even Hawk can build something decent if he believes in himself

I'm down as long as the decks ARE pretty janky. Like, I hope the suggestion isn't "build a good Abzan midrange deck."

I want more wildly out-there stuff like "best deck to include 10+ auras" or something weird like that.

I'd like to NOT play a deck that gets rolled over by tier one stuff, but whoops up on the poor rank 1's. I'd like to have a bit of game vs everything.

My original idea was same color constraints and a theme, example like UB improvise, WR tokens, etc. I also like Vert's idea with something more spicy.
Competitive decks would make the format more appealing to people to test these decks and to deckbuilders to give a better deck for the meta in a competitive environment. It is definitely possible also a janky week, to make it different.
So, if we stay with the original idea at least for this first week, who want to suggest a theme/mechanic/archetype and the color costraints?

Theme should be to build a deck centered around new mechanics and new cards.

I agree with Gem. We've got allies pretty much covered by Mythic ;-)

Even revisiting old archetypes should be good, since it's something new.
Ok i checked the constructed subforum and chose one of the top topics, since it's also one of the deck i'm building in these last days. So the deck of the week is: Abzan Revolt.
Anyone interested in the contest can post his decklist here, the deadline is the beginning of the Pro Tour Then we will make a poll to claim the best revolt deck.
I think we can make public decklists without problems, but if someone wants i could change this and take the decklists by PM, and then posting them only for the poll.

Edit: at least 8-9 revolt spells, but it is mostly left to the deckbuilder, since it is an experiment.

I think you should post these in the constructed subforum. Title threads [DECKBUILDING CONTEST] Abzan Revolt (or whatever theme of the week is). If everything is contained to this single thread it will get unwieldy. Plus mods prob move it to subforum anyways.

I am willing to bet the farm that these decks will be no better than tier 2.5.. bc these cards suck. The only way it gets decent is if revolt is a subtheme and not the total focus.. like a good stuff deck with some revolt.

I'm tempted to agree, but I have an idea to at least try.
