A reanimation deck is tricky to put together. In effect it is kind of a combo deck that needs all the pieces to come together. It needs targets, preferably creatures when hit would either win you the game or at least let you stabilize. It needs discard spells to put these win condition creatures into the graveyard. Finally it needs reanimation spells. A good version of the deck can "cheat" expansive creatures into play. Duels never had the cards. The 5 mana reanimation spells cheating 6 mana creatures into play is not worth the high variance nature of a reanimation deck. Also it never had the critical number of the pieces come together. Until now? A few cards make this deck tick. Ever After can bring in 2 creatures, while doesn't get big creatures in all that early, you get 2 of them. Glorybringer is the new addition that allows you to help stabilize when it hits the battlefield. This helps bring the critical number of reanimation targets to what the deck needs. And finally, Liliana, Death's Majesty is what makes the deck truly shines. In one card, it can help stabilize, helps put cards in your graveyard and is also a reanimation spell. This card is brilliant. The deck normally tries to get stuff in the graveyard and then you reanimate it. Depending on the situation, you would reanimate different creatures. If you want to stabilize, Glorybringer, Noxious Gearhulk or even Ishkanah, Grafwidow is pretty good. Against more controlling match up,Plated Crusher and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger can't be beat easily. The deck has quite a bit of ramp and is really good at building up your mana so it is not the end of the world if you have a few expansive creatures in your hand. I started this deck as a fun idea but it turns out to be more than decent. I still don't think it is tier one but it is still pretty strong. Reanimation Creature(10) 2 x Deathcap Cultivator 2 x Glorybringer 1 x Ishkanah, Grafwidow 1 x Greenwarden of Murasa 1 x Noxious Gearhulk 2 x Plated Crusher 1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger Instant(9) 2 x Fiery Impulse 3 x Grasp of Darkness 4 x Grapple with the Past Sorcery(7) 2 x Radiant Flames 2 x Languish 1 x Necromantic Summons 2 x Ever After Enchantment(5) 2 x Oath of Nissa 3 x Crop Sigil Planeswalker(3) 1 x Liliana, the Last Hope 1 x Liliana, Death's Majesty 1 x Nissa, Vital Force Artifact(2) 2 x Cultivator's Caravan Land(24) 5 x Swamp 1 x Mountain 2 x Hissing Quagmire 5 x Forest 2 x Dragonskull Summit 2 x Rootbound Crag 2 x Woodland Cemetery 4 x Evolving Wilds 1 x Aether Hub To view this deck go to: https://www.magicduelshelper.com/deckli ... 60e29d760e Created using Magic Duels Helper: http://www.magicduelshelper.com |

Just used your post and built the deck...super fun to play. I'm finding you get down early and sometimes big hole to climb out of but once you stabilize and get delirium triggered you pretty much run them off the board with creatures they can't handle. Nice build. |

I see your splash of red is only for Fiery Impulse and Radiant Flames. Have you considered using Alms of the Vein and Yahenni's Expertise, respectively, as replacements to avoid having to mana-fix for such a small splash? (Yahenni's and Radiant Flames aren't exact mirrors, but they both sweep for 3, sort of, and Yahenni's offers some combo opportunities for its higher cost.) Or does the sliver of red work out for you normally? |

I would hope to reanimate it, and casting it for double red can be rough but I have done it. This is the creature that gives the deck a critical mass of reanimation target. I am still tuning the deck. Added two Never, giving it more board control and removing one Languish. I think 4 board sweepers are overkill. Latest version:- Reanimation Creature(9) 2 x Deathcap Cultivator 2 x Glorybringer 1 x Ishkanah, Grafwidow 1 x Noxious Gearhulk 2 x Plated Crusher 1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger Instant(9) 2 x Fiery Impulse 3 x Grasp of Darkness 4 x Grapple with the Past Sorcery(6) 2 x Radiant Flames 1 x Languish 1 x Necromantic Summons 2 x Ever After Split(2) 2 x Never Enchantment(5) 3 x Crop Sigil 2 x Oath of Nissa Planeswalker(3) 1 x Liliana, the Last Hope 1 x Liliana, Death's Majesty 1 x Nissa, Vital Force Artifact(2) 2 x Cultivator's Caravan Land(24) 5 x Swamp 1 x Mountain 2 x Hissing Quagmire 5 x Forest 2 x Rootbound Crag 2 x Dragonskull Summit 2 x Woodland Cemetery 1 x Aether Hub 4 x Evolving Wilds To view this deck go to: https://www.magicduelshelper.com/deckli ... 20b2dc289d Created using Magic Duels Helper: http://www.magicduelshelper.com |
