Personally I don't care much for Reduce//Rubble and would consider running Confirm Suspicions over it. Another thing might be running Awry>Essence Scatter in some quantities; the exile is relevant. Other than that, solid list. I like the omission of Fevered Visions as well, you have enough carddraw. |

Build almost exactly the same list a while ago. Chandra, Flamecaller and broken concentration instead of Jace and Reduce//Rubble. How is baby jace working out? Doesn't he just eat some cheap removal your opponent can't use otherwise? |

I don't like Baby Jace in counter heavy lists either. He's usually a 3rd Sweeper or Dec in Stone if I need those. |

I'm mostly interested in your experience with Kefnet. Working pretty bad for me, dead card or winmore. |

Ya im down to cut baby Jace for possibly big Chandra. Also I like cutting the Reduce//Rubble for confirm suspicions as well. Kefnet has been good enough in the games that I've seen him so far. |

I've settled here on UR control for duels: Cancel is bad mkay 3 x Fiery Impulse 1 x Magma Spray 1 x Jace, Vryn's Prodigy 3 x Censor 2 x Essence Scatter 2 x Unsubstantiate 3 x Harnessed Lightning 1 x Kefnet the Mindful 2 x Scatter to the Winds 2 x Radiant Flames 3 x Glimmer of Genius 2 x Hieroglyphic Illumination 1 x Nahiri, the Harbinger 1 x Brutal Expulsion 1 x Commit // Memory 2 x Confirm Suspicions 1 x Disciple of the Ring 1 x Glyph Keeper 1 x Torrential Gearhulk 1 x Pull from Tomorrow 2 x Prairie Stream 1 x Glacial Fortress 1 x Needle Spires 3 x Aether Hub 4 x Mountain 8 x Island 2 x Wandering Fumarole 2 x Sulfur Falls 3 x Highland Lake Basically a bit teched out to sneak the possibility of 1 extra manland, nahiri and 3 colors for radiant flames in; without taxing the manabase too much. Basically works fine since Zombs is so popular right now, and you got 2 sweeps for em + a fistful of mana efficient removal. I've been getting Pull a bit too often in doubles for my liking, and it's really crap before it's a 6 drop, so I've cut 1 for some faster draw; probably a mistake but meh. I could probably consider playing Towers over some of the other wincons, but as general answers to resolved cards improve and are played, I prefer my threats to be very hard to deal with (or be dirt cheap and played at the opportune moment, where the opponent will need to spend mana on their own turn to deal with it, like baby jace) I just had a game on the draw vs zombs, where they went t1 wanderer t2 copter into t3 gisa's bidding madness; had chosen to not counter anything and instead played Kefnet t3 with kozi's return in hand, with the intent on whiping their board and putting em on a 4 turn clock. Dude untaps, plays a 4th land; double grasps kefnet, and slams me for 7 I still somehow won that game at 2 life working through resolved graf harvest, big lilly, kalitas, and plague belchers. All praise Bluelamog I think this build is pretty good for the meta right now, at least on steam aggro is running rampant. Should people start jamming more midrange walker decks again, going U/W might be a bit more consistent than esper, although anguished unmaking stays superior to cast out in duels I think. |
