Yeah yours was third , after maggits

The important thing is that it won :).

Gems deck just got smashed by the AI but let's see how it does on the ladder

Ouf... it pulls off a win against a rank 1 after I stupidly kept a 2 lander

So the only deck that didn't survive wave one was TImh's build. Who will not survive the next round of tests? Probably Sleephumpers but we'll see!

Gems deck wins his second game right away. We didn't want him to sweat this one, congrsts

DJs deck wins second game as well

It would be cool to see streams of these deck tests. I want to do that, but I'm also trying to put a deck together for the tourney (CGBs 'just play in the tourney you dodgy bastards' video got me feeling like moving to a new home in the middle of it isn't a good enough reason to skip again). I could just do mardu vehicles and submit already to focus on these tests, but that'd make me feel like a filthy try hard...

Nope. No excuses. Move, test these decks on a stream and build/test a tournament deck.

Ready? Go!

Aaaaand go!!!

I can't believe I'm taking this contest more seriously than the tournament.

Sleephumpers deck wins game two! I'm starting to maybe like this deck. Sleep, what should I be tutoring for? I always just grab Gideon but I bet it's supposed to be Unity or Sigil?

Maybe i should have chosen a more competitive archetype this week, so whoever is seriously testing them as Barney is doing could have a plan b decklist for the tourney.

Clearly not Sleep, but based on discussions in the Abzan Enchantment thread - Tutor is mainly Sigil #3-4. However you should prob grab whatever you need most in the moment (and Gideon prob isn't bad most moments). Tutoring for Sigil when you're not ready and able to start abusing it isn't smart.

Every time Barney says my deck won, I read it as though he's shocked.

Is Sigil that good? I keep grabbing Gideon. I can't resist

Ok maggits deck wins so all six remaining decks move to round three of testing. I hit the gold max so I'm gonna take a break for 5 hours or so and do more later

Lots of fun, thanks everyone for submitting drcklists.

Elk your last win was against radios vamps, I totally swarmed the board, it was fun. Oath of Ashanti feels really out of place but I bet some people concede when they see it, fearing superfriends

Oath was the last minute swap for key to the city and still not sure which is the correct choice. Nice to hear it beat vamps though!

If you have a couple enchantments in hand, yes it's that good. Specially if one is a vessel you can crack to find more. Opp has to rec sage/Unmaking or bust. People wouldn't keep trying to build around a rare if it wasn't stupid good when it goes off. If you don't have a couple enchantments in hand, or anything you can cast same turn as Sigil, then Gideon is prob better choice in the moment.

Unity has the engine that gets going with that 2cc enchantment but it's still slow and hard to resist Gideon

Ok I'll consider Sigil if I'm holding up enchantments

At BB... one thing to remember, when playing revolt decks, is that you can waste energy with Aether Hubs by unnecessarily creating colored mana, so that Rampager can keep bouncing. May be important at some decision points, when tapping for mana. Also remember, you can tap all the mana you need before you start playing cards in either main phase. So you could for example waste energy, play Rampager, and then play an ETB revolt trigger with remaining mana.

The interaction of Rampagers, Cubs, Hubs and Rocs can get sick

For sure... also, we all missed Bygone Bishop in these decks. I figured it out later, but that's a solid revolt trigger card, and it's easy on the mana. Would have been amazing in Vert's deck concept, much better synergy than elemental bond, imo (not that bond is necessarily the cut, but that's beside the point).

Bond is a much better play imo. It's much harder to remove and much easier to chain threats.

Yeah sorry Maggit, my original look over the lists had yours as second worst but it's undefeated with the other five so we'll see if it proves me wrong

It's fun to play

Thanks DJ, that's a great tip. I had 12 energy going with Maggits deck last game with a monster cub on the loose
