I know they changed the rules in SOI to make this harder, but I think there's still a way to do it and I want to see if I can still double transform.
Quote:
701.25f If an activated or triggered ability of a permanent that isn’t a delayed triggered ability of that permanent tries to transform it, the permanent transforms only if it hasn’t transformed since the ability was put onto the stack. If a delayed triggered ability of a permanent tries to transform that permanent, the permanent transforms only if it hasn’t transformed since that delayed triggered ability was created. In either case, if the permanent has already transformed, the instruction to transform is ignored. This is a change from previous rules.
Two scenarios I want the answer to.
These could be for any DFC non-eldrazi werewolf, but for the sake of having a specific example lets say its
Instigator Gang //
Wildblood Pack.
Scenario 1)I have a
Wildblood Pack and a
Strionic Resonator. My opponent casts two spells during a turn. On the next turn the Wildblood pack transformation trigger goes on the stack and in response to it I activate Strionic Resonator. The copied trigger resolves transforming the werewolf into
Instigator Gang. What happens when the original trigger tries to resolve?
I'm pretty sure the rules here say explicitly that since the werewolf transformed once while the original trigger was already on the stack that it can't transform again.
Scenario 2)I have a
Wildblood Pack and TWO
Strionic Resonators. My opponent casts two spells during a turn. On the next turn the Wildblood pack transformation trigger goes on the stack and in response to it I activate the first Strionic Resonator. I let the first strionic resonator copied ability resolve transforming the werewolf into
Instigator Gang. I then activate the second strionic resonator, again targetting the original transformation trigger. What happens when the second copied trigger tries to resolve?
Since I created the second copy after the werewolf had already transformed once does the second copied trigger make the werewolf transform again? Or did the second copied trigger also copy the original trigger's tracking information on whether the werewolf had already transformed since it was put on the stack?
