Source: Changes Starting with Pro Tour Magic Origins

At Pro Tour Magic Origins, they are trying a new mulligan rule. It is the same as before, except that if you mulligan at least once, you get to scry 1 right before the game starts.
Full Rule

"This rule will make its debut at Pro Tour Magic Origins, which takes place July 31–August 2. This is the only tournament during which this rule will be in effect for now. After the Pro Tour, we will have more information regarding when this rule will be implemented everywhere else."

It seems interesting and I'd like to see how the testing plays out at the tournament. I know a lot of local FNM players who will enjoy this change if it becomes permanent. It will help them feel like the burden of bad hands is lifted somewhat in our draft games.

It's a good change. Don't want the game to be decided by luck right at the start of the game.

But they said scry was too hard on advance players so it could not be on just one card in MM2? I am confused?

Seems like a nice thing to have in fair decks, but will probably make combo decks even better.

Definitely going to try this in our weekly drafts. I assume Toby won't object.

Where is your sources for this? It obviously isn't the case when scry was all over Theros, already in a core set, and is now an evergreen keyword.

They didn't include Serum Visions in MM2 because scry wasn't one of that set's mechanics and because scry wasn't evergreen at the time. Not because the mechanic itself was too confusing.

That's ridiculous. MM2 can have Eldrazi Spawn, evoke, graft, metalcraft, proliferate, soulshift, sunburst, and freaking annihilator, but not scry?

They probably didn't want people playing two limited formats consecutively with scry.

They have to draw a line somewhere, and they have to leave something for later incarnations of Modern Masters.

Knowledge knows no bounds.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.

Pretty positive change overall, as the one thing that gets hurt most by this is fetchlands and they sure as hell can take a nerf or two.

The only downside I see is that it makes the deck bogles a little better :(
